Khanh Hoa General Hospital deploys modern coronary OCT technique in cardiovascular diagnosis

After receiving the machine, the hospital invited People's Physician, Prof. Dr. Vo Thanh Nhan - President of the Southern Interventional Cardiology Association to provide professional guidance on implementing the technique. Through the transfer, the team of doctors and technicians of the Interventional Cardiology Department of the hospital received and successfully performed the above technique on 2 patients with coronary artery disease.

Under the guidance of Prof. Dr. Vo Thanh Nhan, the medical team of Khanh Hoa General Hospital performed coronary OCT interventional cardiovascular technique for patients.

Associate Professor, Dr. Huynh Van Thuong - Department of Interventional Cardiology said: Coronary OCT is the most modern imaging diagnostic tool today. With the technique of using near-infrared light to recreate cross-sectional images inside the blood vessels, with extremely high resolution at the micrometer level, it helps doctors clearly see the structure of each layer of the vessel wall, determine the level of atherosclerosis, calcium, plaque rupture, choose the length and diameter of the Stent, as well as evaluate the expansion and adhesion of the Stent with absolute precision.

In addition to the modern equipment that has been equipped before, the deployment of OCT helps Khanh Hoa General Hospital complete the chain of advanced coronary diagnostic and interventional equipment. At the same time, it marks a big step forward in the field of interventional cardiology, bringing the hospital closer to the world's modern cardiovascular technology standards; providing opportunities for early diagnosis, more accurate and safer treatment for cardiovascular patients.
