Vietnam Futsal Team to compete in international friendly tournament against New Zealand Futsal Team
This is a tournament to kick off the 2024 AFC Futsal Championship campaign of the Vietnam futsal team. Therefore, coach Giustozzi Diego Raul took the opportunity to test the personnel right in the starting lineup, with Huu Phuc in the goalkeeping position, along with Anh Duy, Minh Quang and Doan Phat.
Playing under the enthusiastic cheers of the home crowd, the Vietnam Futsal team entered the match confidently and coordinated attacks at high speed. The opportunity came in the first minute when Doan Phat had a favorable pass, unfortunately Minh Quang missed a beat.
The subsequent personnel and tactical adjustments by coach Giustozzi Diego Raul continued to be effective, making it almost impossible for the visitors to get the ball towards Huu Phuc's goal. However, it was not until the 9th minute that Van Tien was able to break the balance after a block and then turned to finish with his left foot, putting the Vietnamese futsal team ahead 1-0. However, the next change in the formation made the Vietnamese team somewhat lose focus in defense. Taking advantage of this opportunity, Rahan Ali equalized 1-1 for New Zealand after a fairly simple finish.

Vietnam Futsal team took the lead twice but could only get a draw against their opponent.

This tournament is an important preparation step for the Vietnam Futsal National Team before the 2024 Asian Futsal Championship.
In the following developments, the Vietnam Futsal Team still maintained a good attacking position and scored a goal to increase the score to 2-1. From a good coordination, Duc Hoa passed the ball like "setting the table" for Thai Huy to delicately finish past goalkeeper Antamanov.
In the second half, a surprise happened when New Zealand scored an equalizer 2-2. In this situation, Minh Quang let Sharplin pass easily before crossing to the far post for Rahan Ali to score a double. In the remaining minutes, the away team mainly played defensively and waited for a counter-attack opportunity.
Meanwhile, the Vietnam Futsal team, despite putting a lot of pressure on the opponent’s field, could not put the ball into the net. In the last 5 minutes, the Vietnam team decided to use power-play. Opportunities were created but Thinh Phat and Duc Hoa both let them slip through their shoes.
The final result was a 2-2 draw between Vietnam and New Zealand Futsal Team. On March 30, Vietnam will meet Morocco, who made a strong impression by defeating Iran 5-4 in the previous match.
