The Digital Transformation Award has been held annually since 2018, sponsored by the Ministry of Information and Communications (now the Ministry of Science and Technology). After 8 seasons, in 2025, the Organizing Committee received more than 400 nominations. Through a serious and objective evaluation process, 48 outstanding agencies, enterprises, public service units and individuals were honored at this year's Award Ceremony. The award is a worthy recognition of VietinBank's persistent journey in realizing a comprehensive digital transformation journey, in parallel with optimizing the organizational model, contributing to the goal of developing the national digital economy.
VietinBank identifies digital transformation as a core task of the entire system, a strategic lever to enhance competitiveness, optimize operations, enhance customer experience and create sustainable value. Over the past two years, VietinBank has built and deployed the comprehensive digital transformation journey X01, consulted by the world's leading partners, focusing on four strategic pillars: Digitalization - Data - Technology - People & Organization. By the third quarter of 2025, VietinBank has deployed nearly 100 digital transformation initiatives, 99% of payment transactions are conducted via digital channels, demonstrating a steady step towards a comprehensive digital banking model. Outstanding digital products such as: VietinBank iPay, VietinBank eFAST, eKYC, Business Loan Journey for Individual Customers, Online Consumer Loans, Online Disbursement and Guarantee, digiGOLD... have brought a seamless, fast, and safe experience, helping customers to be proactive in all transactions.

On that journey, VietinBank promotes the modernization of technology infrastructure from Front-end to Back-end such as: Upgrading infrastructure and security, building a centralized data platform, deploying open architecture and flexible integration systems; at the same time, developing modern digital applications to improve customer experience and operational efficiency. VietinBank also identifies the application of Artificial Intelligence (AI) as a breakthrough driving force to help VietinBank shape a smart, creative and efficient operating model. More than 50 AI and Machine Learning application initiatives have been put into operation, covering all areas of operation from demand prediction models, personalized product suggestions, fraud detection and early risk warning. In particular, AI is also strongly applied internally through the virtual assistant VietinBank Genie, shortening 95% of document search time and reducing 70% of meeting minutes preparation time, contributing to optimizing productivity. Along with that, VietinBank is the first state-owned commercial bank to establish a Data & Artificial Intelligence Block with three main focuses: Comprehensive data management, building a real-time analytics platform and applying AI to turn raw data into specific business values.
VietinBank has determined that technology can only truly exert its power when led by people. Therefore, VietinBank pays special attention to building a team of "digital officers" - people who understand, believe in and proactively apply technology to their daily work. Up to now, VietinBank has organized more than 90 training courses on new skills in the digital age such as: Advanced data analysis, Agile, DecSecOps, Design thinking and innovation... along with more than 2.6 million online courses on digital transformation; 100% of middle-level leaders and 99.3% of staff have completed training on AI. In parallel, the Transformation Office was established to act as a focal point for coordinating and monitoring all digital transformation initiatives, ensuring consistency between goals and practical implementation, spreading the culture of innovation throughout the system, aiming at the goal of "Transformation is not just technology, but thinking & culture". Along with that is the operation of the Digital Factory using the Agile method, helping to shorten the product development cycle. All of this has created a solid foundation for VietinBank to continue to maintain its position as a leading commercial bank, while also playing a role in accompanying the country's development in the digital age.
