On the morning of October 9, at Nghe An University, the Department of Science and Technology coordinated with relevant units to organize the Opening Ceremony of "Nghe An Open Innovation and Startup Festival 2025" (Techfest Nghe An Open 2025) and the Final Round of the Contest "Searching for Nghe An Open Innovation and Startup Talents 2025".
The event is part of a series of activities responding to the National Innovation Day (October 1), National Digital Transformation Day (October 10) and towards the 66th anniversary of the establishment of Nghe An Department of Science and Technology (October 25, 1959 - October 25, 2025).
With the theme “Aspiration of Song Lam – for a rising Vietnam”, Techfest Nghe An Open 2025 is a forum to connect and spread the spirit of innovation in the business community, students, youth and people, contributing to realizing the major policies of the Party and State on science, technology development and digital transformation.

After more than 6 months of launching, the competition attracted more than 130 entries from many provinces and cities across the country. After the preliminary round and intensive training, the 20 best projects were selected for the final round. The teams will present directly to the Jury consisting of experts, investors, entrepreneurs, representatives of investment funds and management agencies.
Many outstanding ideas were presented at this year's final round such as: IoT application controller for cold storage, Dragon Organic lipstick from red dragon fruit, Smart anti-drowning bracelet, Nghe An eel floss - convenient traditional specialty, Chatbot RAG-UNI platform supporting education and businesses, or E-commerce platform ocopai.vn... The products all demonstrate creativity, high applicability, aiming to solve practical problems in production and life.

The jury evaluated the projects based on 9 criteria, including creativity, ability to solve practical problems, market potential, competitive advantage, business plan, human resources, technological vision and presentation ability. In addition, the criterion “Song Lam Aspiration” is considered a special plus point for projects that demonstrate the spirit of innovation and the will to rise of Nghe An youth.
This year's award structure includes 10 main prizes, including 1 First prize worth 40 million VND, 2 Second prizes (32 million VND), 3 Third prizes (24 million VND) and 4 Encouragement prizes (8 million VND). In particular, the Top 3 best projects will be proposed for investment of up to 40,000 USD from VSV - Nghe An Investment Fund and introduced to participate in Techfest Vietnam 2025 organized by the Ministry of Science and Technology.
In his opening speech, Mr. Nguyen Quy Linh - Director of the Department of Science and Technology of Nghe An emphasized: “Techfest Nghe An is not only an intellectual playground but also a practical environment for start-up ideas to be nurtured, developed, and commercialized. Thereby, it arouses the creative spirit and the desire to contribute of young people of Nghe An in the digital age. Currently, Nghe An is continuing to perfect policies to support start-ups, invest in infrastructure, promote international cooperation and comprehensive digital transformation, aiming to become the innovation center of the North Central region by 2030”.

Along with the final round, Techfest Nghe An Open 2025 also held many meaningful activities: displaying typical science and technology products; demonstrating digital transformation solutions; seminars on security and artificial intelligence; and a forum to perfect policies to promote creative startups in the North Central region.
The event gathered hundreds of experts, scientists, investors, entrepreneurs, lecturers and students, creating a vibrant atmosphere, strongly inspiring creative aspirations and entrepreneurial spirit.

With the motto “Breakthrough – Progress”, Techfest Nghe An Open 2025 is expected to continue to affirm Nghe An’s position as a bright spot on the national startup map – where bold ideas take flight, where the “Song Lam” spirit constantly spreads and shines on the journey of innovation.
