(Dan Tri) - FIFA President Gianni Infantino announced that the organization is ready to welcome the Russian team to participate in the World Cup in the future.
Russia has been banned from the 2022 and 2026 World Cups after the country launched a special military operation in Ukraine. However, in the future, the situation may be different for the Russian team as recently, US President Donald Trump affirmed that he wants to pursue a peace agreement with Russian President Vladimir Putin.

Faced with that situation, FIFA president Gianni Infantino announced that the organization is ready to welcome the Russian team to participate in the World Cup in the future.
"We all hope that the peace talks will be successful. I think we need to support that for the world , more than football," said the FIFA chief.
If football can play a small part, once peace is established, FIFA hopes that all teams in the world will be able to play football."
The 2026 World Cup will be held in three North American countries: the United States, Mexico and Canada. Mr. Gianni Infantino is proud to be able to bring the most important football tournament in the world to many places around the world.
Mr. Gianni Infantino added: "We will bring the World Cup to North America in the 2026 tournament. Then the tournament will be held in South America, Africa and Europe in the 2030 World Cup. In the 2034 tournament, the World Cup will go to Asia. That shows that we want the world to be united.
FIFA wants to bring the world closer together and ensure that football is played everywhere. We want people to meet and come closer together."

Yesterday, FIFA also lifted the World Cup ban on Pakistan. Previously, FIFA announced that it would ban Pakistan from all other tournaments organized by this organization. The reason was because the Football Association of this country "did not ensure fairness and transparency in the election of the new president".
However, in the face of FIFA sanctions, the Pakistan Football Federation was forced to change course. After an extraordinary PFF meeting on February 27, the body approved constitutional amendments. This paved the way for a fair and transparent election of the Federation president.
Article 38 of the PFF constitution allows anyone who plays an active role in football management and organization at any level to run for the top position. Previously, Article 38 limited the scope of candidates to only PFF, AFC or FIFA members, causing opposition from many stakeholders.
