Lieutenant Colonel Le Duc Tuan - Commander of the Navy presided over the launching ceremony at the 42nd Navy Command Headquarters. The ceremony was connected online to the Department of Education and Training of Ca Mau province and 51 secondary school bridges in the province.

The contest is organized in a combination of online and offline formats with rich content, through attractive competitions, close to the age of secondary school students. The online round takes place from October 6 to October 11. In this round, contestants answer 30 multiple choice questions and 1 theoretical question from the Organizing Committee online on the contest software.
The live round taking place on October 26 is organized in the form of the Gameshow “Ring the Golden Bell” with the 100 contestants with the highest achievements in the online round; contestants will answer questions in the form of true or false multiple choice or choose the most correct answer from the given options.
Lieutenant Colonel Le Duc Tuan said that firmly protecting the sovereignty of the sea and islands of the Fatherland is the duty and responsibility of every citizen, including students - the future owners of the country. The contest has profound meaning, arousing patriotism, national pride and self-respect; raising awareness among students about the position and strategic role of Vietnam's sea and islands in the cause of building and defending the Fatherland.
I love my homeland's sea and islands is a contest organized by the Vietnam Coast Guard Command in coordination with many localities across the country since 2013. After 10 years of implementation (2013-2023), the Vietnam Coast Guard has successfully organized 111 "I love my homeland's sea and islands" contests at 313 secondary schools in 34 provinces and cities, with the participation of 24,303 students, more than 130,000 teachers and cheering students.

Along with the contest, from socialized sources, the Coast Guard Command has awarded 4,452 scholarships, sponsored 24 students, 1,887 bicycles, more than 16,000 student notebooks, 800 school bags, given 2,688 gifts to policy families, examined and provided free medicine to 2,673 cases...
In recent times, the Police Region 4 Command has coordinated to organize many contests "I love my homeland's sea and islands", bringing practical results in propagating, disseminating and educating about the sea and islands, about Vietnamese and international laws on sea and islands for all classes of people, focusing on secondary school students. Most recently, the contest "I love my homeland's sea and islands" was held in Vinh Chau ward, Can Tho city with more than 100 students from 21 schools in the area. The contest awarded first prize to Thach Hoang Nam, a student of class 7A4, Lai Hoa Secondary and High School with excellent scores.
Colonel Nguyen Thai Duong, Deputy Political Commissar of the Coast Guard Region 4 Command, shared that through the contest, he hopes that each student will leave the playground with pride, love and respect for the homeland's sea and islands. From here, the seeds of patriotism are planted and will grow into steadfast defenders of the Fatherland in the future.
The project to organize the "I love my homeland's sea and islands" contest nationwide for the period 2024-2030 and the following years has an important position and role in the work of propaganda, dissemination and education about seas and islands, about Vietnamese and international laws on seas and islands for all classes of people, focusing on students. Through the contest, it aims to equip knowledge, foster love for the homeland, love for seas and islands for students, at the same time create a healthy, useful, interesting playground, encourage, motivate, arouse faith, aspirations, and ideals of learning for the young generation, indirectly contributing to supporting the Vietnam Coast Guard to perform well its functions and tasks in the new situation.
