On the evening of September 19, Thai Son Bac Club successfully defended the title at the 2025 National U20 Futsal Tournament after defeating Thai Son Nam Ho Chi Minh City 3-2 in the final match held at the Futsal Club Gymnasium in Chanh Hung Ward (Ho Chi Minh City).

Thai Son Nam TP.HCM Club and Saigon Titans were severely disciplined by the Vietnam Football Federation's disciplinary committee after negative performance in the 2-2 draw in the group stage.

Among them, Thai Son Nam Club in Ho Chi Minh City received the most severe disciplinary action. In addition to head coach Nguyen Bao Trung being suspended from duty for 4 matches, two key players Nguyen Chi Bao and goalkeeper Truong Minh Tuan were banned from playing for 8 and 5 matches respectively.

With such a missing squad, U20 Thai Son Nam TP.HCM still won 7-2 against U20 Tan Hiep Hung TP.HCM in the semi-finals. But against the reigning champion U20 Thai Son Bac, U20 Thai Son Nam TP.HCM could not make an upset.

U20 Thai Son Nam TP.HCM scored in the 14th minute, when Tien Hung took advantage of a counter-attack to open the score. With just over 10 seconds left on the clock at the end of the first half, Nhan Nam promptly equalized 1-1 for U20 Thai Son Bac.

The second half was very dramatic. In the 26th minute, Nguyen Huu Bac shone with a sprint from the home field and a powerful shot to put U20 Thai Son Bac ahead 2-1. But less than a minute later, Hoang Phong scored the equalizer 2-2 for U20 Thai Son Nam TP.HCM.

However, Huu Bac once again continued to shine to score the winning goal 3-2 for U20 Thai Son Bac in the 37th minute.

In addition to the championship, U20 Thai Son Bac also won the style award and 3 individual titles: "Best Player", "Top Scorer" (with Nguyen Huu Bac) and "Best Goalkeeper" (Doan Tuan Phong).

In the third place match, U20 Saigon Titans beat Tan Hiep Hung TP.HCM 2-1.

Big ripple from the negativity of young players

Not only did the U20 Thai Son Bac players not want to win in order to avoid the semi-final match, they also had unacceptable behavior when there were 17 seconds left in the match.

Chi Bao was the one who kicked the ball into the empty goal, while goalkeeper Minh Tuan moved up to the center circle when Thai Son Nam TP.HCM Club was leading 2-1.
