In recent days, due to the impact of complex weather and high tides, many sections of the riverside dike in Nhi Long commune have suffered serious erosion with a total length of nearly 2 km, with some points completely losing the dike structure, directly threatening production and people's lives.

Specifically, the dyke lines in My Hiep, My Hiep A, and Duc My A hamlets were eroded with a total length of 1.56 km, eroding 2-4 m into the shore; the dyke section in Duc My hamlet completely lost a 65 m long embankment.

In addition, the embankment at Con Ho (My Hiep A hamlet) also appeared to have many subsidence points, with signs of cracking. Although the local government has taken temporary measures to fix it, safety is still not guaranteed.

More worryingly, the embankment under construction in the Con Ho area is currently suffering from serious subsidence. In addition, the old embankment lacks resources for maintenance and repair, so it is deteriorating; some sections have been flooded, directly affecting the new embankment under construction.

Not only the embankment, the asphalt road along the Dung Dinh River (in Long An hamlet) with a length of about 1 km has been eroded in 3 sections about 100 meters long, eating into the asphalt road from 1-2 meters into the road surface. This not only seriously affects traffic, but also causes insecurity for people in the area, especially during the rainy and stormy season.

After surveying the landslide sites, Vice Chairman of Vinh Long Provincial People's Committee Chau Van Hoa directed Nhi Long Commune People's Committee to put up warning signs in landslide areas and widely inform people about the landslide situation in these areas so that people can proactively prevent and avoid them in their daily life and production. For serious and dangerous landslide sites, the locality mobilized and supported people in the area to evacuate to ensure absolute safety for people's lives and property.

The Department of Agriculture and Environment of Vinh Long province shall consider and advise the Provincial People's Committee to declare an emergency situation of landslide incidents if conditions are met; propose appropriate remedial measures in accordance with regulations.
