Representatives of the units jointly launched a program to collect plastic bottles and aluminum cans through automatic machines.
On October 23rd at the University of Commerce ( Hanoi ), the launching ceremony of the program "Recycled plastic bottles, the journey continues" took place with the participation of six universities. This is the third year the program has been implemented with the goal of spreading the message of environmental protection.
The program is organized not only to raise people's awareness of reducing plastic waste, but also to encourage people, especially the young generation, to form the habit of "Collecting - classifying - sending for recycling", towards a sustainable development future.
In addition to the host of the launching ceremony, the University of Commerce, the program also has the participation of the University of Water Resources, Hanoi University of Natural Resources and Environment, University of Transport, Academy of Finance and Phenikaa University.
Implementing the program "Recycled plastic bottles, the journey continues", the Organizing Committee will place 6 plastic bottle and can collection machines at major universities in Hanoi. Each school will have 1 machine installed for 3 months. It is expected that in the first month, the machines will collect about 85,000 plastic bottles and aluminum cans. People only need to bring used plastic bottles and aluminum cans to the collection points to send them for recycling, accumulate points on the Zalo application and exchange them for gifts.
The program also included the announcement and awarding ceremony of the clip creation contest responding to the campaign "Recycled plastic bottles, the journey continues". The contest, with the theme of environmental protection, focused on building the habit of "Collecting - classifying - sending for recycling" plastic waste, was responded to, completed and posted on social networking platforms by students of six participating schools.
