14 years of formation and development
On February 14, 2011, Dong Nai Hydropower Company was officially established. Over the past 14 years, with the attention and close direction of Power Generation Corporation 1 (EVNGENCO1), Vietnam Electricity Group (EVN), and the great support of ministries, branches, localities and partners, Dong Nai Hydropower Company has performed well its political tasks, operated Dong Nai 3 & Dong Nai 4 Hydropower Plants safely and stably, making an important contribution to the socio-economic development, ensuring national defense and security.
Mr. Nguyen Quang Vinh, Director of Dong Nai Hydropower Company, said that on February 14, 2011, Vietnam Electricity Group (EVN) decided to establish Dong Nai Hydropower Company according to Decision No. 71/QD-EVN with the task of managing and operating Dong Nai 3 and Dong Nai 4 Hydropower Plants (total installed capacity of 520 MW). In early 2013, Dong Nai Hydropower Company transferred to the direct management of Power Generation Corporation 1 (EVNGENCO1). Currently, the Company has 06 Departments/Workshops with 147 officers, employees and workers. Of which, direct workers account for more than 70%, indirect workers account for nearly 30%, the management staff all have university degrees or higher.
After 14 years, for Dong Nai Hydropower Company, it has been a journey filled with memories. Throughout that journey, the Company's staff and workers have always been proud to shoulder the responsibility of managing and operating 02 factories: Dong Nai 3 & Dong Nai 4 Hydropower Plants safely and effectively. That development cannot fail to mention the dedication and deep attachment of the Company's staff and the direction of the leaders of Power Generation Corporation 1, along with the trust and companionship of our partners.
Since its establishment, the Company's workforce has always mastered the technical features of the entire equipment system. The Company's staff has always researched and proposed innovative technical solutions to improve equipment reliability and ensure safety in electricity production operations. In the past time, the staff has contributed many technical innovations recognized by Power Generation Corporation 1. In 2024, the Company was honored to have one innovation recognized as a "Made by EVN" product. The innovations have brought about many benefits, helping to improve productivity, save labor and improve safety at work.
During the 14-year journey, the thing that the staff and workers here are most happy about is, without a doubt, “absolute safety”. This reward is invaluable to those working in the Dong Nai 3 & Dong Nai 4 Hydropower Plant with countless potential risks of insecurity, work accidents, fire and explosion incidents, downstream flood discharge, risks to the works and dams. However, thanks to solidarity, the staff and workers have overcome, always cherish this achievement and make more efforts to preserve it.
In 2024, the Company was honored to have 1 initiative recognized as a “Made by EVN” product. The initiatives have brought about many benefits, helping to increase productivity, save labor and improve safety at work.
Proud achievements
Over the past 14 years, Dong Nai Hydropower Company has been operating effectively, contributing to ensuring energy security with electricity supplied to the national power system of 21,162 billion kWh, contributing 3,700 billion VND to the state budget. The company always focuses on inspection, maintenance, repair of equipment and works. Thanks to that, the annual economic and technical indicators have all met and exceeded the set plan. The coefficients of availability, self-consumption of electricity, labor productivity, and cost reduction have all met and exceeded the assigned plan.
Over the years, the Company has continuously received certificates of merit and emulation flags from EVN, localities, the State Capital Management Committee at Enterprises, the Ministry of Industry and Trade and the Prime Minister, and the 3rd Class Labor Medal from the President for its outstanding achievements contributing to the cause of building socialism and defending the Fatherland.
During the 14-year development journey, the staff has matured in both age and career, has been steady in handling work as well as promptly grasping the development trends of the 4.0 digital technology era. Along with enthusiasm, responsibility and diligence in assigned work, the staff has created a sustainable development brand of Dong Nai Hydropower Company. Up to now, many engineers have truly become experts in the fields they are in charge of. Many technical innovation initiatives and scientific projects have been highly appreciated by the Power Generation Corporation 1 (EVN GENCO1) and Vietnam Electricity Group (EVN).
Dong Nai Hydropower Company always strictly complies with the regulations in the inter-reservoir operation process on Dong Nai River issued by the Government; has a regular working schedule with localities on water use plans to exploit reservoirs effectively, both meeting the requirements of electricity production and ensuring water supply for downstream areas.

During 14 years of operation, the company has always been highly appreciated by Lam Dong and Dak Nong provinces for its effective and safe reservoir regulation work, without causing any damage due to subjectivity. In addition, with the goal of turning the Company into a modern enterprise and basically becoming a digital enterprise by 2025, in the past time, Dong Nai Hydropower Company has successfully completed the digital transformation tasks assigned by Power Generation Corporation 1 and the Company's own digital transformation tasks.
In addition to the task of electricity production and business, over the past 14 years, Dong Nai Hydropower Company has always been active in social security work, not only spreading the flame of faith in life but also contributing to the community with profound human values, affirming that it is a responsible enterprise to the community. Activities such as: Giving houses of gratitude, love, and solidarity; donating and helping poor students with good academic performance in the factory's working area; sponsoring facilities and medical supplies for schools and localities; giving Tet gifts to poor households and policy families with funds contributed by employees and from the Company's welfare fund; participating in humanitarian blood donation in the area when there is a program launched; planting more than 23,000 trees, picking up plastic waste in the areas where the Company is located and releasing fish in the reservoirs of Dong Nai 3 & Dong Nai 4 Hydropower Plants every year.
