On the evening of January 14, the Traffic Police Department (PC08), Ho Chi Minh City Police, said that it had coordinated with other forces to chase and arrest two dangerous robbers.

According to initial information, at 0:50 a.m. the same day, the PC08 Department on duty received information via the hotline from the people about the robbery of a black and white Vespa motorbike with license plate 69L1 - 176xx at the High-Tech Park in Thu Duc City and the phone numbers of two people chasing the robbers.

Information said, 2 robbers are moving through District 1 and District 4.

Immediately, the PC08 Department on duty reported to the Command Information Center of Ho Chi Minh City Police, and at the same time informed the units of PC08 Department to coordinate to arrest the robbers.

Patrol control forces of many teams under PC08 such as: Patrol escort team, Ben Thanh Traffic Police Team, South Saigon, Anti-racing team... immediately moved to coordinate with the Criminal Police Team, Team 363 - District 4 Police. These forces chased the 2 robbers through many routes in districts 1, 4, 7, 8.

Arriving at Ton That Thuyet Street, Ward 18, District 4, the pursuing force controlled and arrested one subject. The remaining subject, who directly stole the car, continued to escape.

Being chased, the reckless subject repeatedly forced the vehicle to stop, rode a special bicycle and used a helmet to attack the pursuing force in order to escape.

Identifying the reckless subject, Captain Nguyen Trong Thanh - an officer of the Patrol Team leading the group pulled out a K59 gun and fired two shots into the air to suppress the suspect. When chasing him to Chanh Hung Street, Ward 4, District 8, the Traffic Police surrounded and arrested the subject.

At the police station, the two suspects declared their names as Thach Den (35 years old, from Tra Vinh ) and Le Van Son (39 years old, from Ben Tre). They admitted to the car robbery.

Traffic police have handed over the two subjects to District 8 Police to carry out procedures to transfer them to Thu Duc City Police to expand the investigation and handle them according to their authority.

The police also handed over the robbery evidence, a Vespa, to the victim, Ms. NTP.

Ms. P. said that while traveling in the High-Tech Park (Thu Duc City), passing Phu Huu Bridge, she was suddenly approached by two young men on a motorbike who threatened and robbed her Vespa. When the two subjects escaped, Ms. P. asked a passerby to drive her to chase them, and at the same time called the PC08 hotline for help.

Very promptly, the traffic police force quickly joined the chase, captured the two robbers and recovered the car for Ms. P. When receiving the car back, Ms. P. was moved and wrote a letter of thanks to the traffic police force for participating in supporting the people quickly, actively and effectively.
