Proposal to relocate the old Ba Ria - Vung Tau Provincial Administrative Center to Ho Chi Minh City University of Medicine and Pharmacy

(NLDO) - The University of Medicine and Pharmacy has sent an official dispatch requesting to receive the former Ba Ria - Vung Tau Provincial Political and Administrative Center to serve educational and medical purposes.

The Ho Chi Minh City Department of Finance has just issued a document adjusting, updating and supplementing the plan for arranging and relocating operating facilities for the following units in Ho Chi Minh City. In particular, it proposes a plan for arranging and relocating at the old Ba Ria - Vung Tau Provincial Administrative - Political Center (Administrative Center).

Previously, on September 29, Ho Chi Minh City University of Medicine and Pharmacy issued an official dispatch requesting permission to survey and take over the old Ba Ria - Vung Tau Provincial Administrative Center. The school reported that there was a serious lack of development space, and that the facilities could not meet the learning and working needs of about 16,000 students, 6,000 school staff, and the health care needs of the people.

Therefore, the school proposed to receive the old Ba Ria - Vung Tau Provincial Administrative Center for educational and medical purposes.

The Ho Chi Minh City Department of Finance has coordinated with agencies and units to survey the current status and proposed to arrange 2 land plots, including land plot No. 01, Pham Van Dong Street, Ba Ria Ward, with an area of ​​over 147,000 m2 and No. 179 Pham Van Dong Street with an area of ​​over 29,000 m2 (these are 2 facilities under the Administrative Center) as branches of educational and training facilities and operating facilities of the University of Medicine and Pharmacy Hospital.

According to the Department of Finance, this plan is effective in the management and use of houses and land because it assigns a centralized point of management, use, operation, maintenance and repair of technical systems attached to the building, and is also convenient for both training and practice.

For the city's agencies and units working at the Administrative Center, they will be located at 179A Bach Dang Street, Ba Ria Ward. This facility was formerly the working headquarters of the National Assembly Delegation, the People's Council of the old Ba Ria - Vung Tau Province, the Public Administration Center and the Provincial Party Committee's archives, with an area of ​​about 7,390 m2.

In addition, based on the proposal of Thong Nhat Hospital, we would like to receive the current status of Le Loi Hospital (Vung Tau ward, currently vacant) to build a specialized rehabilitation center to provide nutritional care and rehabilitation for the elderly and senior officials. The Department of Finance and the hospital have surveyed, the Department also proposed to arrange the real estate of Le Loi Hospital for Thong Nhat Hospital to serve as a branch of the hospital.
