20 years ago, in the 2005 university entrance exam, Dinh Duong Tung Anh became the valedictorian of Hai Phong University of Medicine and Pharmacy with an impressive score of 29.5 - Math 10, Chemistry 10, Biology 9.5. Two decades later, that valedictorian became the youngest candidate for associate professorship in the medical field in 2025.
Born in 1988, Dr. Dinh Duong Tung Anh is currently Deputy Head of the Department of Pediatrics, Faculty of Medicine, Hai Phong University of Medicine and Pharmacy.
After graduating from university in 2011 with a dual degree in General Medicine and a Bachelor of English, Mr. Tung Anh continued to pursue in-depth research abroad.
In 2015, he received his Master's degree from the University of Paris 7 - Paris Diderot (France), majoring in Cell Biology, Physiology and Pathology. In 2019, he successfully defended his doctoral thesis at Kanazawa University (Japan), majoring in Developmental Neuroscience.

Returning to Vietnam, Mr. Dinh Duong Tung Anh taught and researched at the very school where he was once the valedictorian. From an intern lecturer in 2014, he successively held the positions of: Lecturer, postgraduate academic affairs officer, deputy head of department and is currently deputy head in charge of the Department of Pediatrics.
Dr. Tung Anh's research focuses on three main directions: Clinical Pediatrics, Antimicrobial Resistance and Developmental Neuroscience.
In the Pediatric Clinical field, he researches common diseases in children such as respiratory, cardiovascular, digestive, neurological... to improve the quality of treatment and reduce mortality rate in pediatric patients.
In the research direction of antibiotic-resistant bacteria, his studies have made important contributions to monitoring the antibiotic resistance situation in Hai Phong, helping doctors choose appropriate treatment regimens and control the risk of drug resistance.
Meanwhile, in the field of Developmental Neuroscience, his research area in Japan has clarified a number of mechanisms related to the formation and differentiation of nerve cells, contributing to explaining the causes of congenital brain malformations.
To date, Dr. Dinh Duong Tung Anh has chaired 8 basic-level scientific projects, guided more than 9 graduate students, resident doctors and specialists 2. He has also published 58 scientific articles, including 11 in prestigious international journals, 6 in the Scopus Q1 group - the top 25% of journals in the field of expertise. He has also compiled 2 Pediatric textbooks for undergraduate and postgraduate training.
In his application, Dr. Tung Anh stated that he fully meets the standards of a teacher according to the Education Law (amended in 2009). He is considered to be honest, ethical and dedicated to teaching.
In terms of expertise and profession, he is well-trained and has a firm grasp of the standards. In scientific research, he is passionate about research, knows how to apply scientific results to improve his professional qualifications and always accompanies and guides students in research projects.
In his medical and teaching work, he is exemplary, maintains the image of a lecturer, is willing to apply innovative teaching methods, encourages creativity and self-study spirit of students.
Regarding coordination activities, he promotes cooperation, organizes research groups well, is a bridge in the relationship between institutes and schools, and integrates teaching, scientific research and clinical practice application in pediatrics.
