Thai enterprises promote trade and investment in Gia Lai

(Chinhphu.vn) - On October 23, the People's Committee of Gia Lai province coordinated with Becamex Group, Becamex Binh Dinh Joint Stock Company and the Federation of Thai Industries (FTI) to organize the Investment Promotion Conference for Thai enterprises in Gia Lai province in 2025 with the theme "Discovering Gia Lai, Vietnam - Trade and investment breakthrough".

Gia Lai : New destination for Thai investors

The event is part of a series of activities towards the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Thailand (1976-2026), considered an important milestone in economic cooperation between the two sides, opening up opportunities to attract high-quality investment capital flows into the Central Highlands region; opening a new step forward in Vietnam - Thailand investment cooperation, contributing to promoting socio-economic growth in the Central Highlands region and improving the quality of life of the people.

Speaking at the workshop, Mr. Nguyen Tu Cong Hoang emphasized: "This event is a testament to the increasingly close and effective cooperative relationship between Gia Lai province and the Thai business community. This is not only an investment promotion activity, but also a forum for the two sides to connect, share and work together towards sustainable development."

According to Mr. Hoang, Thailand is currently one of Gia Lai's stable investment partners, with 9 FDI projects with a total capital of more than 100.5 million USD, focusing on the following areas: Processing industry, seafood, logistics, trade and services. However, compared to the potential, the room for cooperation between the two sides is still very large, especially in the fields of logistics, renewable energy, supporting industries and processed agricultural products.

Gia Lai leaders said that the province is aiming to become the industrial, logistics and high-tech agricultural center of the Central Highlands, in which Becamex Binh Dinh Industrial Park is identified as the strategic core, connecting Le Thanh International Border Gate (Gia Lai) with Quy Nhon port, helping to optimize the supply chain and reduce transportation costs.

With clean land, modern infrastructure, flexible policies and the "invest and operate immediately" model, Becamex Binh Dinh Industrial Park is expected to become the production and distribution center of the Mekong sub-region, attracting many international enterprises.

"Gia Lai hopes that through the conference, large-scale projects with depth and influence will be formed, creating a value chain linking Thai enterprises and the local investment ecosystem," Mr. Hoang shared.

Strengthening cooperation, expanding investment opportunities

Vice Chairman of Gia Lai Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Tu Cong Hoang affirmed that Gia Lai prioritizes cooperation with Thailand in the fields of cross-border logistics, processing industry, supporting industry and export production, to promote sustainable economic growth.

He also hopes that the Thai Consulate General will continue to play the role of "investment promotion ambassador" for Gia Lai, and at the same time call on Thai businesses with strong potential, especially in the fields of high-tech agricultural processing, logistics and supporting industries, to come and learn about and invest in the province.

In addition, Gia Lai leaders proposed establishing a regular dialogue channel between the province and important economic organizations of Thailand, such as FTI, to promptly resolve difficulties in the investment process, ensuring that projects are implemented effectively, stably and sustainably.

Within the framework of the conference, Becamex Binh Dinh Joint Stock Company held a groundbreaking ceremony for 4 key infrastructure items in the Becamex VSIP Binh Dinh Industrial - Urban - Service Park with a total investment of nearly 700 billion VND. The event affirmed Gia Lai's efforts in attracting investment, developing the economy and improving people's lives.

At the workshop, Becamex Binh Dinh signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Thai partners: Becamex Group and FTI on supporting Thai enterprises to access the investment environment in Vietnam. At the same time, Becamex VSIP Binh Dinh, TBAS and SetiaBecamex Joint Stock Company established a strategic cooperation, creating conditions for Thai - Malaysian enterprises to invest in Gia Lai.

On this occasion, Becamex Binh Dinh also donated 500 million VND to the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Gia Lai province to support people in the North to overcome the consequences of storms and floods.
