World Cultural Festival in Hanoi ends with many impressions

Taking place from October 10-12 at the Thang Long Imperial Citadel Heritage Site, the World Cultural Festival in Hanoi painted a brilliant, diverse cultural picture of Vietnam and nearly 50 countries around the world.

At the festival, many meaningful activities also took place, spreading the spirit of mutual love and sharing of the Vietnamese people with compatriots affected by natural disasters and floods.

Speaking at the closing ceremony, Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Nguyen Van Hung emphasized that sustainable, creative and inclusive development has become the goal of many countries in the world. Vietnam is not outside that common orbit.

Vietnam has identified sustainable development based on cultural and human development as the foundation, and promoting foreign affairs and international integration as essential and regular. On the path to realizing that goal, a very important condition is the need for a peaceful and stable environment and effective cooperation between countries and like-minded partners.

"The Vietnamese people are civilized and heroic with thousands of years of history, have a tradition of loving peace; always understand and act for stability and cooperation; always clearly perceive and consider preserving and promoting the value of cultural heritage, respecting and protecting nature as gratitude to tradition, ensuring the right to development of future generations, ensuring the rapid and sustainable development of the country," said Minister Nguyen Van Hung.

The Vietnamese people have promoted that mindset and brought that awareness into all activities and cooperation with other countries and partners. Vietnam is an active and responsible member of UNESCO, actively contributing to the success of international frameworks and activities, especially in creating, dialogue, and cooperation for peace and development.

Minister Nguyen Van Hung affirmed that the first World Cultural Festival in Vietnam is a vivid proof, originating from the initiative of Mrs. Ngo Phuong Ly - Wife of General Secretary To Lam - about organizing a cultural event of international stature in the capital Hanoi - a place to honor the unique beauty of each country, affirm the power of culture in connecting people with people, and is a vivid picture of solidarity in the diversity of humanity.

During the three days of the Festival, we witnessed the magical fusion of cultures from around the world at the historic Thang Long Imperial Citadel – a world cultural heritage recognized by UNESCO.

Together we have shared, learned and overcome all language and geographical barriers to become closer. We have created a space to introduce and promote the diversity and richness of cultures; we have joined hands to contribute to maintaining international peace and security by strengthening cultural cooperation between countries, in accordance with the principles of UNESCO.

"We affirm the pioneering role of culture in promoting international cooperation and building a bridge of friendship between nations, implementing the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, and bringing common prosperity to the international community," Minister Nguyen Van Hung expressed.

The first World Cultural Festival in Hanoi was attended by 48 countries and international organizations, with many unique cultural spaces and events: Cultural Road Exhibition; international costume show, traditional Vietnamese Ao Dai with the theme Heritage Footsteps ; film screenings; cultural and artistic introduction; book festival; introduction of culinary arts of various countries and 30 international art performances.

The vibrant atmosphere and colorful cultural convergence for the first time have made the World Cultural Festival in Hanoi one of the key cultural activities in 2025, attracting about 1 million visitors to visit and experience.

Not only is it a meeting of friendship between cultures around the world, with the message "The world beats together with love", within the framework of the Festival, the Organizing Committee has carried out an auction and charity donation program with a total amount of 2.5 billion VND.

All proceeds will be transferred to localities in Vietnam affected by floods and storms, to support the reconstruction of houses, schools and public works, helping to rebuild people's lives, spreading a strong message of sharing and resilience.

The closing art program of the Festival took place with many special performances by Vietnamese and international artists. Cultural slices of Vietnam and many countries coexisted vividly and attractively, with "specialties" such as Xam, folk songs of three regions, songs such as Thinh Vuong Viet Nam, Made in Vietnam, Gio Cuba, Gieo Que, See Tinh...

Joining in harmony and creating a vibrant, brilliant stage to close the Festival were the voices of Truc Nhan, Hoang Thuy Linh, and artists from Indonesia, Iran, Pakistan...
