Van Thang Resettlement Area Project Phase 1: Will start construction in December

Project implementation area.

Total investment of more than 1,385 billion VND

The Van Thang Resettlement Area Project Phase 1 (Van Thang Commune and Tu Bong Commune) was approved for construction investment in Decision No. 3208, dated December 12, 2024 of the Provincial People's Committee and approved for construction design to be implemented after the basic design in Decision No. 2291, dated June 19, 2025 of the Chairman of the People's Committee of Van Ninh District (old). Accordingly, the project has a total investment of more than 1,385 billion VND, with the Provincial Development Project Management Board as the investor. Land use area, site clearance of the entire area of Van Thang Resettlement Area is about 99.89 hectares (according to Resolution No. 112, dated December 8, 2023 of the Provincial People's Council), including investment in construction of Van Thang Resettlement Area Project phase 1 with an area of about 70.14 hectares, including the following items: Construction of complete traffic system within the project and 4 external roads outside the project; organizing traffic on the entire route, arranging a full traffic safety system according to National Technical Regulations on road signs; arranging 6 centralized parking lots; leveling the entire area of about 70.14 hectares of phase 1 of the project.

In addition, the project also designs social infrastructure works including: 1 kindergarten, 1 primary school, 1 secondary school, 1 medical station; water supply and drainage system; lighting system, communication and landscape green park. The land area for housing group per capita is 72.72 ^m2 /person, the population size of the whole area is 6,500 - 7,000 people (phase 1 is 5,822 people/1,446 resettlement lots). Project implementation period is 2024 - 2027.

Mr. Nguyen Thanh Hien - Director of the Provincial Development Project Management Board said that the investment in the Van Thang Resettlement Area Project is of great significance in order to resettle people affected by key investment projects and other projects in Van Phong Economic Zone and Van Ninh district (old). Currently, the Prime Minister and the Provincial People's Committee have approved the investment policy of many large projects on urban areas in this area, so the investment in the resettlement area is extremely urgent. The project is expected to start construction on December 19 to celebrate the 14th National Congress of the Party and be completed before December 31, 2026.

Prepare carefully to start construction

Currently, the project has completed the signing of contracts with construction contractors and construction insurance contractors. The investor is organizing the selection of a construction supervision consultant. The unit carrying out the site clearance work is the Van Ninh Land Fund Development Center Branch. Up to this point, Van Thang commune has inventoried 381/454 land plots, equivalent to 39.67/44.39 hectares, reaching 89.36%; the remaining 73 plots, equivalent to 4.72 hectares (10.64%). Tu Bong commune has completed the inventory of 404 plots, equivalent to 55.5 hectares, reaching 100%. Currently, the units have submitted to the Department of Agriculture and Environment for appraisal of the measurement map; at the same time, there has been a notice of specific land prices for compensation and support. Localities are organizing the posting of compensation and support plans. According to the capital plan, in 2025, the project will be allocated more than 457 billion VND. Accumulated disbursement up to September 30 reached nearly 260 billion VND; expected to disburse 100% of the yearly plan.

The leader of the Provincial Development Project Management Board said that the board is currently completing preparations and reviewing the site to hand over to the contractor to start construction according to regulations.
