Emirates Airlines opens new route to Da Nang

Emirates Airlines - the world's leading international airline officially operates the Dubai - Da Nang route with a frequency of 4 flights per week.

On the evening of June 2, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Da Nang City coordinated with Emirates Airlines, Da Nang International Terminal Investment and Operation Joint Stock Company (AHT) and related units to organize a program to welcome the first flight number EK370 from Dubai to Da Nang (transit in Bangkok).

Flight EK370 landed at Da Nang International Airport at 7:50 p.m. the same day, with 333 international passengers on board a Boeing 777 – a wide-body aircraft with three-class service. This is the first flight in Emirates' regular operation plan on the Dubai – Bangkok – Da Nang route, with a frequency of 4 flights per week, on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays.

The event to announce and launch Emirates’ new route was solemnly held at the International Departure Terminal – Da Nang International Airport. At the same time, at the International Arrival Terminal – Da Nang International Airport, Da Nang City held a ceremony to welcome the first passengers on the inaugural flight from Dubai.

Immediately after landing, the plane was greeted with a water cannon ceremony. Passengers enjoyed a traditional art performance, were given flowers and souvenirs as a warm welcome, showing hospitality and contributing to promoting the image of Da Nang - a safe, friendly and attractive destination.

Mr. Nabil Sultan, Executive Vice President, Passenger Business and Country Management, Emirates, said that the launch of this route is an important step in Emirates' growth strategy in Southeast Asia, as well as reinforcing the airline's commitment to providing seamless connectivity to support Vietnam's long-term trade and tourism goals.

Da Nang City held a ceremony to welcome the first passengers on Emirates Airlines flight from Dubai.

Ms. Truong Thi Hong Hanh, Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Da Nang City, added that in order to be ready to welcome visitors from the Middle East and new markets with high spending levels, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism has coordinated with relevant units to prepare to complete facilities, improve service quality, organize specialized training, cultural guidance, customs and service procedures suitable for specific markets, including the Middle East market.

At the same time, deploy connections to support tourism businesses to exchange customer sources and develop international markets through this flight route to promote two-way passenger growth, aiming to exploit the flight route sustainably and effectively.

Since the beginning of 2023, the promotion of flights from Dubai has been identified by Da Nang City as one of the key tasks. After 2 years of discussion and promotion, in January 2025, a working group of Emirates Airlines led by Mr. Salem Ghanem Al Marri, Director of Flight Analysis and Planning, had a working session with the People's Committee of Da Nang City, leaders of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, relevant departments, agencies, Da Nang Airport management agency and Sun Group Corporation. During the working trip, the delegation also conducted a field survey in the city and planned to open a flight route connecting Dubai with Da Nang.

Emirates Airlines' operation of the route connecting Dubai and Da Nang, transiting in Bangkok, officially marks this locality on Emirates' destination map. Da Nang is also the third destination in Vietnam after Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi in the airline's global flight network.
