Quick information from Forest Protection Department No. 4 ( Hanoi Forest Protection Department) on the morning of October 8 said that due to the influence of storm No. 11, prolonged heavy rain caused serious landslides in many areas of Trung Gia and Soc Son communes. On the road through Thanh Ha village, Doc Keo section, a block of land about 5m long and more than 5m high suddenly collapsed, temporarily cutting off traffic. Also in this locality, the road through Phuc Xuan village collapsed about 30m; in Do Tan and Hoa Son villages, dozens of cubic meters of rock and soil poured onto the road, causing local congestion and threatening households living along the hillside.

A report from the Trung Gia Commune Civil Defense Command said that the locality is mobilizing shock troops, Battalion 86 soldiers and Commune Police to assist in evacuating people from dangerous areas. The landslide-affected roads have been posted with warning signs, safety ropes, and the flow of water has been urgently cleared to ensure smooth traffic. Soc Son Commune has also promptly blocked the road and deployed forces to warn people not to move in areas with serious landslides.
Notably, in Yen Bai commune, rocks and soil from the hill behind the house collapsed close to the foundation of a household in Mit Mai village. The family was forced to temporarily evacuate to ensure safety. Authorities have erected barriers, posted warning signs and advised people not to return while the rain continues.

In Phu Cat and Yen Xuan communes, according to local authorities, small landslides have appeared in steep terrain. Some residential roads have collapsed, with long cracks appearing, posing a risk of further landslides if heavy rain continues.
According to the Northern Hydrometeorological Station, from the end of August until now, Hanoi has been continuously affected by three major storms (numbers 9, 10 and 11), causing soil and rocks in mountainous areas to be saturated with water, reducing stability and leading to landslides.

According to Director of the Hanoi Department of Agriculture and Environment Nguyen Xuan Dai, the risk of landslides is alarming, especially in mountainous communes and hilly areas. The Department has directed the Department of Irrigation and Natural Disaster Prevention and Control and the Forestry Department to coordinate with local authorities to carefully check each residential area and each hillside roof; make a list of households at high risk to promptly evacuate in case of heavy rain; at the same time, request communes and wards to increase information, propaganda, and advise people not to go through roads at risk of landslides and proactively deploy the "4 on-site" plan - on-site command, on-site forces, on-site means and on-site logistics to be ready to respond.
Not being subjective in the face of complicated weather developments, the above communes are also urgently overcoming landslides, temporarily reinforcing slopes, dredging drainage ditches, and arranging forces on duty 24/24 to respond when heavy rains recur. These urgent and synchronous measures are expected to help Hanoi's mountainous communes minimize damage and ensure people's safety during the rainy and stormy season.
