The Department of Industry and Trade (Ministry of Industry and Trade) coordinated with the People's Committee of Kien Giang province to organize the 14th Conference on Industrial Promotion of Southern Provinces and Cities - 2024 at the People's Committee of Phu Quoc city on the afternoon of October 10.
The local Department of Industry and Trade said that in the first 9 months of 2024, the total approved industrial promotion budget plan for 20 provinces and cities in the Southern region was more than 91.3 billion VND, down about 8% compared to the 2023 plan; supporting rural industrial establishments to participate in exhibitions and fairs, promoting advertising, connecting consumption, contributing to the development of local industry and handicrafts.
However, the work of planning, appraisal at the grassroots level and the quality of local projects has not been bold enough to build large-scale pilot projects; the progress of budget allocation is still slow, affecting support policies for rural industrial establishments.

Ms. Nguyen Thanh Ha - Deputy Director of the Department of Industry and Trade of Binh Duong province - said that the industrial promotion policy in recent times has been a boost to help rural industrial establishments develop and local products appear on the market.
The People's Committee of Binh Duong province has recently issued support policies for small and medium-sized enterprises to provide vocational training, preserve traditional craft villages; connect to find raw materials, promote and improve machinery and equipment to increase production and the value of local products.
"We hope that the industry promotion policy of the Ministry of Industry and Trade will consider providing additional support for small and medium enterprises and special craft villages to have more conditions to relocate machinery and production equipment, and maintain stable development," Ms. Ha suggested.
Mr. Ngo Quang Trung - Director of the Department of Local Industry and Trade (Ministry of Industry and Trade) - requested that localities and relevant units focus on completing the industrial promotion tasks in 2024 and preparing the industrial promotion plan for 2025.
