Hail and storms blew off the roofs of more than 40 houses in Muong Lat district.

On April 17, information from the People's Committee of Muong Lat District ( Thanh Hoa ) said that in many communes in the district, there had just been large hailstorms and tornadoes, causing the roofs of many houses to be blown off.

Accordingly, a hailstorm with thunderstorms started at around 4 p.m. and lasted until around 6 p.m. the same day in the communes of Pu Nhi, Quang Chieu and Muong Lat town (Muong Lat district).

Initial statistics show that 41 houses had their roofs completely or partially blown off. Of these, Quang Chieu commune has 31 houses, Pu Nhi commune has 8 houses and Muong Lat town has 2 houses.

In addition to damaged houses, many areas of crops were also damaged, however, there are no statistics yet. Fortunately, the hail and tornado did not cause any human casualties.

After the hailstorm, local authorities mobilized forces to support households in repairing damaged houses so that people could stabilize their housing.

Currently, the People's Committee of Muong Lat district has requested localities to count the damage to have a plan to support the people.
