On the evening of October 10, at the Thang Long Imperial Citadel Heritage Center - a UNESCO-recognized World Cultural Heritage, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism coordinated with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Hanoi People's Committee to organize the first "World Cultural Festival in Hanoi".
The opening ceremony took place on the central stage, with cultural exchange performances combined with 3D Mapping projection, creating a convergence space of five continents in creative light and solidarity.
The ceremony was honored with the presence of Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, the General Secretary's wife - Mrs. Ngo Phuong Ly; Member of the Party Central Committee, Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Nguyen Van Hung; Alternate Member of the Party Central Committee, Permanent Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Le Hai Binh, along with leaders of central departments, ministries, branches, international guests and a large number of people of Hanoi .
Speaking at the ceremony, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh emphasized: "We will continue to promote the role of culture as an endogenous strength, at the same time as a connecting strength, a strength of international solidarity, sharing together in the face of natural disasters and the consequences of climate change, which are of a national, comprehensive and global nature, requiring international solidarity, promoting multilateralism and mutual assistance, including the cultural bond."
In a speech that shared many similarities with Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, UNESCO Representative in Vietnam Jonathan Wallace Baker emphasized that Hanoi has long been a cultural bridge – a place where tradition meets creativity.
The highlight of the opening ceremony was a special, colorful ritual, symbolizing the cooperation of countries in creating the quintessential masterpiece of world craftsmanship.
Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, along with leaders of Central and Hanoi ministries, agencies and international organizations, performed a special ceremony, opening the solemn and meaningful opening ceremony.
The ceremony brought together cultural exchange performances and 3D Mapping projections, creating a space of convergence of five continents in creative light and solidarity. The entire program was staged in a vivid three-dimensional space, conveying the message "Culture is the bridge of humanity, creativity is the common language of the world."
The spectacular performance “One Round Vietnam” opened the World Culture Festival, bringing a colorful artistic space, starting the journey to discover and honor Vietnamese cultural identity through the regions.
With the "Cherry Blossom" dance, artists from Japan brought the pure and clear breath of spring, as a delicate greeting introducing the beauty and cultural quintessence of the Land of the Rising Sun.
The Luang Prabang folk dance performed by the Lao National Art Troupe sent a warm and friendly greeting to the audience. The performance was a blend of the traditional melody of the “Khan” instrument and graceful movements, spreading the spirit of hospitality, solidarity and national pride of Laos.
In addition to the special ceremony, the program also gathered many famous Vietnamese artists such as Tung Duong, Hoa Minzy... and international artists, bringing emotional performances, combining tradition and modernity, thereby honoring and highlighting the cultural identity of the countries.
Continuing the flow of world culture, the art performance from Mongolia brings the typical colors of the vast steppe. The image of the proud eagle is vividly depicted, expressing the spirit of freedom, openness and strength in the lifestyle and soul of the Mongolian people.
The opening night ended with the performance We Are The World spreading the message of friendship, solidarity and peace.
