The 24th Vietnam Film Festival is scheduled to take place from November 21-25, 2025 in Ho Chi Minh City, with the theme "Vietnamese Cinema - Sustainable Development and International Integration in the New Era".

Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Ta Quang Dong worked with the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee on preparations for the 24th Vietnam Film Festival.
Speaking at the meeting, Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Ta Quang Dong emphasized that the 24th Vietnam Film Festival is a national cultural and artistic event, not only honoring outstanding and creative cinematographic works but also contributing to the development of the film market, towards successfully building a modern Vietnamese film industry rich in national cultural identity.
This year's festival has a very special meaning, organized on the occasion of the 50th Anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025); the 80th Anniversary of the successful August Revolution (August 19, 1945 - August 19, 2025) and the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam (September 2, 1945 - September 2, 2025); towards the 14th National Congress of the Party and in the context of Ho Chi Minh City gradually affirming its position as a UNESCO Creative City in the field of cinema.

Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Ta Quang Dong hopes this will be the largest and most prestigious Film Festival ever.
Deputy Minister Ta Quang Dong requested the units under the Ministry and Ho Chi Minh City to frankly share and closely coordinate, thoroughly resolve the remaining problems to ensure a professional and effective Vietnam Film Festival, leaving a deep impression in the hearts of the public and international friends.
According to the report of the Department of Cinema, the 24th Vietnam Film Festival will take place in 05 days, the program is expected to include the main activities: Opening Ceremony, Closing Ceremony and Award Ceremony of the 24th Vietnam Film Festival.
The competition film program includes Feature films, Documentaries, Scientific films, Animated films; Panorama program, Contemporary Vietnamese film program, including films produced during the period from the 23rd Vietnam Film Festival to the 24th Vietnam Film Festival (not included in the competition film program); Conference program with 2 topics (expected) "Developing the film industry in the new era" and "Experience in attracting film crews to localities"; Program to promote and develop local cinema; Film week to welcome the 24th Vietnam Film Festival; Photo exhibition; Art program "Music in films"; Exchange program in the film festival...

Director of the Department of Cinema Dang Tran Cuong informed about the activities that will take place at this year's Film Festival.
The highlight of this year's Film Festival is that Vietnamese and foreign individuals who have made special contributions to the development and promotion of Vietnamese cinema will be honored and awarded a Certificate of Merit by the Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism . At the same time, a Certificate of Merit for the unit that distributes the most Vietnamese films in the period 2023-2025 will also be awarded to recognize efforts to bring Vietnamese films closer to the public.
Along with that, this year's Film Festival will have the full participation of leaders of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of 34 provinces and cities after the merger - demonstrating the spirit of solidarity and companionship of the entire industry in developing the country's cinema industry.
At the meeting, delegates also discussed and agreed on the venue; time of organization and content of activities within the framework of the Film Festival; propaganda and promotion work; coordination content between units... The Organizing Committee also calculated to deploy "Outdoor Film Festival" activities in the Nguyen Hue Walking Street area to create a vibrant atmosphere, connecting the public with cinema.
After listening to the report and suggestions, Deputy Minister Ta Quang Dong noted that the organization needs to be carefully prepared, with highlights, demonstrating the stature of a national film festival in the period when Vietnamese cinema is strongly reforming. At the same time, he acknowledged and highly appreciated the sense of responsibility and close coordination of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee throughout the preparation process.
With the potential and experience in organizing national cultural and artistic events, Deputy Minister Ta Quang Dong hopes that Ho Chi Minh City can create a film festival with its own mark - both modern and imbued with Vietnamese identity. In particular, making the 24th Vietnam Film Festival the largest and most prestigious film festival ever.
