Asian Youth Games - an opportunity for Bahrain to assert itself as a leading destination for major international sporting events

The 2025 Asian Youth Games will be held in Bahrain from October 22 to 31. Sara Ahmed Buhiji, Director General of the Bahrain Tourism Authority and President of the Bahrain World Exhibitions Authority, said that hosting the event for the third time will help strengthen Bahrain's position as a leading destination for major international sporting events.

Ms. Sara Ahmed Buhiji also said that this is an opportunity for the Kingdom to affirm its capacity to organize activities not only in the field of sports , but also in tourism and culture.

The 2025 Asian Youth Games will help cement Bahrain's position as a leading destination for major international sporting events.

Hosting the event at Exhibition World Bahrain marks a significant milestone for the venue as it will be the first time in the event’s history that the Opening Ceremony will be held indoors and will also host 14 other sporting events, Sara noted.

Exhibition World Bahrain was chosen for its modern facilities, advanced technology and innovative services, creating an ideal environment for athletes and spectators, while maintaining world- class standards.

According to Ms. Sara Ahmed Buhiji, preparations include significant upgrades to Bahrain's tourism infrastructure and hospitality services, while emphasizing effective cooperation between the public and private sectors in organizing a successful event.

In addition, comprehensive tourism programs have been developed by the Organizing Committee in coordination with relevant authorities for participating sports delegations. The program includes guided tours to Bahrain's most prominent historical, cultural and entertainment sites, allowing visitors to experience the Kingdom's unique tourism services.
