130 million VND of love for 'Wings of Dreams'

(DN) - "I am really touched. The amount of money is so large that even in my dreams I never thought I would receive it. I feel that I am not alone on my journey to school. I promise to try to study well and live well, so that in the future I can come back to help those in difficult circumstances like me today" - Ngo Dinh Phu An (class 12A4, Thong Nhat A High School) emotionally shared at the 123rd Wings of Dreams scholarship award ceremony, which took place today, October 15.

Phu An's story moved listeners. He was born into a poor family, his parents divorced when he was in 4th grade. After that, An followed his father to a rented room, while his younger sister (who had a mental illness since childhood) lived with her mother. Some time later, her mother remarried, but her family's financial situation was still not good.

Disaster struck again, in 2024, his father died of a stroke. Not wanting to be a burden to his mother, An continued to stay in the old rented room. Occasionally, his mother came to visit and encourage him, but most of the time he managed to fend for himself, studying and working part-time to make ends meet.

Immediately after surveying the situation, the Wings of Dreams Program quickly connected. Although it was the first time Thong Nhat A High School received the program, the preparation was very warm and solemn. Regardless of the distance, many volunteer teams and groups arrived in time to hand over the scholarships, helping An firmly step on the path to conquering her dream.

The success of the “Giving Wings to Dreams” journey warmed the hearts of all who witnessed it. More than love, it was the commitment from the accompanying units: to continue the journey of charity, spreading widely in the community, so that poor students would not be left behind.
