This information was given by Thailand News Agency, which has high credibility. Specifically, Thailand News Agency said that Bich Tuyen will not participate in the 33rd SEA Games, taking place in Thailand.
"The 33rd SEA Games organizing committee said the Vietnam Volleyball Federation did not submit the registration documents for Nguyen Thi Bich Tuyen, a 25-year-old female volleyball player. The deadline for registering the list of athletes is September 15," Thailand News Agency said.
This is not too surprising information because throughout the past time, Nguyen Thi Bich Tuyen has been under a lot of pressure from the gender testing trend that is being tightened by the International Volleyball Federation (FIVB).
A month ago, the 33rd SEA Games organizing committee revealed that they might conduct gender tests on athletes in some competitions.
To date, the gender testing has not been clearly announced. However, the FIVB has conducted gender testing on some athletes at the 2025 Women's U21 World Championship.
After this inspection, Bich Tuyen proactively withdrew from the list of Vietnamese team participating in the Women's Volleyball World Championship taking place from the end of August.

In a social media post, Bich Tuyen shared the reason she withdrew from the team was because she "felt that FIVB regulations were not transparent enough" and "to protect herself".
According to Thairath newspaper, gender testing at the 33rd SEA Games can be entrusted to sports federations, especially focusing on highly competitive sports such as martial arts, volleyball, football, and especially athletics.
Currently, World Athletics has pioneered gender testing for all athletes worldwide.
