According to the program, the working delegation and officers and soldiers of Ship 390 (Command of Coast Guard Region 2) held a flower and incense offering ceremony to commemorate the heroic martyrs of the unnumbered ship at point C43B in Quy Thien beach, Khanh Cuong commune, Quang Ngai province; and held a flag-raising ceremony at Ly Son flagpole, the sacred symbol of the Fatherland's sovereignty over the sea and islands of the outpost.

Next, the delegation offered incense and commemorated the heroic martyrs at the Ly Son Special Zone Martyrs Cemetery and the Hoang Sa Team Memorial in charge of Bac Hai, expressing gratitude for the contributions of generations of ancestors who died to protect the sovereignty of the sea and islands. Here, the delegates reviewed the glorious tradition of the Ly Son people - descendants of the Hoang Sa Squadron of the past, who carry within them the aspiration to preserve the sacred sea and islands of the Fatherland.

After the memorial ceremony, the delegation had a courtesy visit and worked with the leaders of Ly Son Special Zone, exchanging information on the local socio -economic development, national defense, security, mass mobilization work and social security.

Speaking at the meeting, Colonel Tran Hong Que, Deputy Commissar of Coast Guard Region 2, highly appreciated the spirit of solidarity and will to rise of the Party Committee, government and people of Ly Son Special Zone after the province's merger, and acknowledged the outstanding results of Ly Son in developing marine tourism economy, exploiting seafood associated with protecting sea and island sovereignty, especially the effective implementation of solutions to combat IUU fishing under the direction of the Government.

Also in the program, the delegation visited the An Hai boat anchorage area, visited and encouraged fishermen, presented national flags and gifts to outstanding boat owners who went out to sea. The activity contributed to encouraging the spirit of fishermen to firmly stick to the sea, persistently develop the economy and participate in protecting sovereignty over the seas of the Fatherland.

On the same afternoon, at the hall of the People's Committee of Ly Son Special Zone, the Command of Coast Guard Region 2 coordinated with the Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department of Quang Ngai Provincial Party Committee to organize a conference on "Propaganda on seas and islands; regulations against illegal, unreported, and unregulated (IUU) fishing", combined with the awarding of 300 national flags and 80 gifts to fishermen in difficult circumstances in the special zone. Thereby, contributing to raising awareness and sense of law compliance, encouraging fishermen to fish in accordance with regulations, towards the goal of developing a sustainable and responsible marine economy.
