Photographer Nguyen Khac Hao won the Gold Medal at the national art photography contest and exhibition "Fatherland on the shore of the waves"

On the evening of October 16, at the Military Radio and Television Center (Hanoi), the Central Propaganda Department presided over and coordinated with the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People's Army; Ministry of Foreign Affairs; Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism; Ministry of Public Security; Ministry of Agriculture and Environment; Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union and related units to organize the award ceremony of the third national art photography contest and exhibition "Fatherland on the Shore of Waves" in 2025. Attending the ceremony were comrades: Nguyen Trong Nghia, Politburo member, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Head of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission; General Trinh Van Quyet, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Director of the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People's Army; leaders of central departments, ministries, branches and agencies.

After 3 seasons of organization, the national art photography contest "Fatherland on the shore of the waves" has affirmed its own identity, has a strong influence and prestigious position. This is not only an art playground but also an activity with profound political and cultural significance, receiving the attention and wide response of all classes of people, especially photographers. Many works of high artistic value have strongly expressed the love for the homeland and civic responsibility of the authors, are a source of authentic documents, contributing to promoting the image of the country, people and sacred and beautiful seas and islands of Vietnam to the people at home and international friends.

Launched from March 2025 to July 2025, the contest received 15,770 photographic works from 3,514 authors from 34 provinces and cities nationwide. Not only did the quantity increase, the quality of this year's works also made significant progress. Through elaborate selection rounds, the Jury selected 150 outstanding works to introduce at the exhibition, of which 22 best works were awarded prizes. The photos vividly depicted the natural beauty and people of the sea and islands through unique perspectives and emotional moments; at the same time, honored the spirit of work, creativity, and will to rise of the People, along with efforts in preserving and protecting sovereignty , developing the socio-economy, strengthening national defense and security. These results demonstrate the interest, companionship and positive response of professional and amateur photographers and the general public across the country.

At the ceremony, comrade Nguyen Trong Nghia and other leaders presented logos, medals and certificates to the winning authors; and also presented Certificates of Merit from the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission to 8 provinces and cities with outstanding achievements in coordinating the implementation of the contest. From the results of the third "Fatherland on the Shore" contest, the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission continues to coordinate with relevant agencies to promote the compilation of: bilingual photo books, electronic photo books, virtual reality exhibitions and organizing photo exhibitions in provinces and cities.

At the award ceremony, the photo series "Bustling anchovy season" by Dr., Meritorious Teacher, Photographer Nguyen Khac Hao, former Standing Deputy Secretary of the Hung Yen Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Union of Science and Technology Associations of Hung Yen province won the Gold Medal. The photo series was highly appreciated by the Jury for its ideology, artistic value and the message the author conveyed in the series. That is the process of turning marine resources into valuable specialties associated with the traditional culture of the nation. Thereby, spreading the love for the homeland's sea and islands, contributing to promoting the image of the country and people of Vietnam, affirming the sacred sovereignty of the sea and islands of the Fatherland. Along with that, Photographer Nguyen Khac Hao also has 2 works: "Unique bamboo basket boat" and "Spreading net" displayed at the exhibition.
