The memorial house of Major General, People's Armed Forces Hero Pham Xuan An is located in the revolutionary tradition area of ​​the 1968 Mau Than Spring General Offensive and Uprising (in Tan Nhut commune, Ho Chi Minh City), invested by Department 12/General Department II (Ministry of National Defense), displaying many valuable artifacts about the legendary intelligence officer, along with souvenirs of his comrades.

To celebrate the 80th anniversary of the Vietnam Defense Intelligence Day (October 25, 1945 - October 25, 2025) and the success of the first Congress of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee (term 2025 - 2030), on the morning of October 23 at Tan Nhut commune, Ho Chi Minh City, General Department II - Ministry of National Defense and Vietnam Joint Stock Commercial Bank for Industry and Trade (Vietinbank) solemnly held the inauguration ceremony of the memorial house of Major General, Hero of the People's Armed Forces Pham Xuan An.

Attending were Politburo member, Standing member of the 14th Party Congress Document Subcommittee Nguyen Van Nen, Lieutenant General Nguyen Duc Loi, Party Secretary, Political Commissar of General Department II, representatives of Ho Chi Minh City leaders, comrades and family of intelligence officer Pham Xuan An.

Reporting on the investment results and scale of the memorial house at the inauguration ceremony, Colonel Nguyen Pha Nam - Deputy Director of Department 12, General Department II - said: "This is a project of practical significance, aiming to honor the contributions and merits of Major General, Hero of the People's Armed Forces Pham Xuan An in particular, and the Vietnam National Defense Intelligence Service in general, to the cause of building and defending the Fatherland; at the same time, it is a place for political activities, traditional education, fostering revolutionary ideals; promptly motivating officers, employees and intelligence soldiers. After 6 months of completing investment and construction procedures, the completed project has a total investment of 11 billion 382 million VND, sponsored by Vietinbank ".

The memorial house of intelligence officer Pham Xuan An includes the main item of a 1-storey memorial house and auxiliary works: internal roads, green landscape. The central space displays the achievements of the Vietnam defense intelligence sector in the two struggles for national liberation and the life of Major General, Hero of the People's Armed Forces Pham Xuan An.

Speaking at the ceremony, Lieutenant General Nguyen Duc Loi affirmed: "Over the past 80 years, under the direct leadership, direction, education and training of the Party, Uncle Ho and the army; with the wholehearted help of ministries, branches and localities and the protection and care of the people of the whole country, the national defense intelligence has grown and matured continuously, achieved many outstanding achievements, contributing with the entire Party, the entire people and the entire army to successfully carry out the task of national liberation, building and firmly protecting the socialist fatherland of Vietnam and fulfilling its noble international obligations."

According to Lieutenant General Nguyen Duc Loi: "In those silent but extremely proud feats, today's generation of defense intelligence will never forget the shining example of revolutionary heroism of Major General, Hero of the People's Armed Forces Pham Xuan An - the intelligence officer whom our people honor as a 'legendary intelligence officer', and whom the enemy on the other side of the battle line also had to admit was a perfect spy."

"For 23 years working behind enemy lines under the guise of a journalist and reporter for many famous magazines, my father made contributions to the nation's revolutionary cause, wholeheartedly dedicating himself to the Fatherland, worthy of the title of Uncle Ho's soldier. My father has become a shining example, a source of pride and honor for the whole clan and family."
