The 1st Congress of Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee held a preparatory session.

Attending the preparatory session were comrade Tran Luu Quang, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee; representatives of central departments and branches, and 546 official delegates representing more than 366,000 party members of the entire Party Committee attending the Congress.

Speaking at the preparatory session, comrade Tran Luu Quang, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee affirmed that the 1st Congress of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee, term 2025-2030 is a political event of great importance to the Party Committee, government and people of the city, attracting the attention of agencies, organizations and people of all walks of life, not only in the city but also in the whole country.

He requested the delegates attending the Congress to uphold their sense of responsibility, concentrate their intelligence, promote the representative role, will and aspirations of all levels of the Party and more than 366,000 Party members in the entire City Party Committee; thoroughly grasp and deeply understand the motto of the Congress: "Solidarity, democracy, discipline, breakthrough, creativity", and actively contribute to the success of the Congress.

At the preparatory session, delegates elected the Congress Presidium consisting of 11 comrades, the Congress Secretariat consisting of 3 comrades and elected the Congress Delegate Qualification Examination Committee consisting of 5 comrades.

At the same time, the Congress also approved the program; regulations; working regulations of the Congress; announced the decision to establish 12 delegation groups; approved the Report synthesizing the opinions of the City Party Committee on the draft documents to be submitted to the 14th National Party Congress and thoroughly grasped the contents of the organization and service work for the official session of the Congress. At the preparatory session, delegates attending the Congress contributed to support people in overcoming the consequences of floods.

According to the program, the 1st Congress of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee, term 2025-2030, will take place from October 13 to 15. With the motto "Solidarity, democracy, discipline, breakthrough, creativity", the 1st Congress of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee, term 2025-2030 will summarize and comprehensively evaluate the implementation of the Resolution of the City Party Congress for the term 2020-2025; determine the directions, goals, tasks, and solutions for the term 2025-2030.

At the same time, the Congress will discuss and contribute opinions to the draft documents of the 14th National Party Congress; announce and hand over the decisions of the Politburo and Secretariat to appoint the Executive Committee, the Standing Committee, the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee, the Inspection Committee and the Chairman of the Inspection Committee of the City Party Committee; and the decision to appoint delegates of the City Party Committee to attend the 14th National Congress of the Party.

The 1st Congress of Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee, term 2025-2030 took place in a context of many intertwined opportunities and challenges.

This is a particularly important political event, not only establishing the development direction for the new term, but also laying the foundation for a breakthrough period, turning the city into the leading growth pole in the region.

This congress is considered a concrete step to realize the aspiration of building Ho Chi Minh City into a multi-centered city, where the strengths of the three most dynamic economic regions of the country converge.

Previously, delegates attending the 1st Ho Chi Minh City Party Congress visited the Ho Chi Minh City Martyrs' Cemetery and offered flowers to President Ho Chi Minh at the Ho Chi Minh President Monument Park.

The official session of the 1st Ho Chi Minh City Party Congress, term 2025-2030, started at 8:00 a.m. on October 14.
