
Implementing the spirit of Resolution No. 57/NQ-CP dated December 24, 2024 of the Government on breakthroughs in science and technology development, innovation and national digital transformation, from October 12-14, the Trade Office - Embassy of Vietnam in India organized a working program for Ambassador Nguyen Thanh Hai to attend the Vibrant Gujarat activity to strengthen cooperation between Vietnam and India in the fields of high technology, innovation and knowledge transfer.
In Gandhinagar city, Ambassador Nguyen Thanh Hai and his delegation visited and worked at the Nasscom CoE – IoT & AI Innovation Center and the Artificial Intelligence Center (AI CoE). These are India's leading research and application facilities in the fields of digital transformation, artificial intelligence, big data analytics and the Internet of Things, under the National CoE Network jointly implemented by the Indian government ; the Software and Information Technology Association of India (Nasscom) and the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII).
At the meeting, the Center introduced many advanced technology solutions that can be applied immediately in production, supply chain management, quality control of imported and exported goods and business administration. The two sides agreed to promote the connection between Vietnamese enterprises and innovation centers with the innovation network of Gujarat state, especially in the fields of: Production, trade, investment, healthcare, pharmaceuticals, education - training and technology transfer.
Next, Ambassador Nguyen Thanh Hai had a working session with the Indian Institute of Technology Gandhinagar (IIT Gandhinagar) - one of the leading training and research institutions in India. Representative of IIT Gandhinagar, Dr. Somnath Mitra - Director of the Center for Research Commercialization expressed his desire to expand extensive cooperation with Vietnam in the fields of research, training, and innovation development.
According to Dr. Somnath Mitra, IIT Gandhinagar wishes to sponsor and co-organize joint research projects on science, technology and innovation between Vietnam and India; promote exchanges of faculty, students and experts between IIT Gandhinagar and leading universities in Vietnam; encourage Vietnamese enterprises in India to support joint research funds and training programs; invite Vietnamese startups to attend incubation programs and innovation events organized by IIT Gandhinagar; and connect with innovation associations, startup organizations and industry associations in Vietnam to implement practical and long-term cooperation programs.

Speaking at the meeting, Ambassador Nguyen Thanh Hai highly appreciated the cooperation potential of Gujarat state - one of the most dynamic industrial, innovation and startup centers in India.
Ambassador Nguyen Thanh Hai affirmed that Vietnam is implementing strategic orientations according to Resolution 57/NQ-CP, which emphasizes innovation and digital transformation as new growth drivers for the country. Therefore, strengthening connections with leading research institutes, innovation centers and universities in India will contribute to promoting public-private cooperation, creating a foundation for the development of a knowledge-based economy and Industry 4.0 in Vietnam.
The deal will continue to work with the Vietnamese Embassy in India, domestic ministries and sectors, and partners in Gujarat state to specifically implement cooperation initiatives on innovation, research and development, and digital transformation, thereby contributing to realizing the Government's goal of developing science and technology to become the main driving force for rapid and sustainable growth.
