Speaking at the press conference, coach Kim Sang Sik affirmed that the whole team had prepared carefully and was determined to continue to win 3 points after the 3-1 victory in the first leg. He emphasized: "I think the opponent will play a deep defense, so the players need to move flexibly, coordinate well and finish more accurately. We want to dedicate a beautiful match to the fans."

When asked about the possibility of giving opportunities to U23 players, the Korean strategist said: "In the first leg, we prioritized safety. However, in the next match, some young players may be able to play. They are performing very well in training sessions and are capable enough to compete for positions."

Regarding the squad, Mr. Kim confirmed that center back Bui Tien Dung is likely to be absent due to a back injury, while the remaining players are ready to play. He also paid special attention to finishing efficiency, as the team missed many opportunities in the first leg: "We had 20 chances but only scored 3 goals. I expect the attacking players, especially Tien Linh, to take better advantage to score many goals and keep a clean sheet."

Tactically, coach Kim said the team not only focuses on set pieces but also aims for a diverse playing style, maximizing the strengths of each player.

He also shared his feelings when playing with the team for the first time at Thong Nhat Stadium: “I felt the great affection of the audience. Tien Linh even teased me to ask for more tickets. We really hope to have an emotional match in Ho Chi Minh City.”

For his part, striker Nguyen Tien Linh expressed his determination to bring a better match to the fans: “After the positive result of the first leg, the whole team is practicing hard. We will play our best to win all 3 points for the Ho Chi Minh City audience.”

Tien Linh also acknowledged the fighting spirit of the young players and considered this a valuable opportunity for them to learn and gain experience. When asked about rising to third in the list of top scorers in the history of the Vietnamese team, he modestly said: “I don’t think too much about personal achievements. Each match is an honor and I always aim to score goals to contribute to the team’s victory.”

The match between Vietnam and Nepal will take place at 7:30 p.m. on October 14 at Thong Nhat Stadium.
