Gasoline price forecast in price adjustment session this afternoon

The Vietnam Petroleum Institute's (VPI) Machine Learning-based gasoline price forecasting model shows that, in the operating period on October 23, 2025, retail gasoline prices may decrease by 1.3-1.5% while oil prices may decrease sharply by 2.6-4.5% compared to the previous operating period, if the Ministry of Finance and Industry and Trade do not set aside or use the Petroleum Price Stabilization Fund.

According to Mr. Doan Tien Quyet, data analyst of VPI, the retail price of E5 RON 92 gasoline may decrease by 288 VND (1.5%) to 18,932 VND/liter, while RON 95-III gasoline may decrease by 261 VND (1.5%) to 19,639 VND/liter.

VPI's model also forecasts that in this period, diesel prices may drop sharply by 4.5% to 17,591 VND/liter, fuel oil may drop by 3.9% to 14,148 VND/kg, and kerosene prices may drop by 2.6% to 17,922 VND/kg. VPI forecasts that the Ministry of Finance and Industry and Trade will continue not to set aside or use the Petroleum Price Stabilization Fund this period.

According to a representative of a petroleum business, domestic petroleum prices will fluctuate according to the world petroleum situation. According to current market developments, it is forecasted that in the next price adjustment period, retail petroleum prices may decrease.

Of which, the price of RON 95 - III gasoline is forecast to decrease by about 220 VND/liter; E5 RON 92 - II gasoline will decrease by about 200 VND/liter; and Diesel oil will decrease by about 600 VND/liter.

In the recent adjustment session (October 16), gasoline prices increased across the board compared to the previous price adjustment period. Of which, E5 RON 92 gasoline is priced at VND19,226/liter (up VND88/liter). RON 95-III gasoline is priced at VND19,903/liter (up VND174/liter).

Prices of petroleum products have decreased across the board. Of which, diesel 0.05S is priced at VND18,423/liter (down VND181/liter); kerosene has a new price of VND18,406/liter (down VND28/liter); fuel oil is priced at VND14,371/kg (down VND437/kg).
