The naturalization of goalkeeper Patrik Le Giang is considered a strategic step in a long-term plan to improve the professional quality of the national team and aim for key goals in the near future.
Patrik Le Giang was born on September 8, 1992 in Slovakia, with a Vietnamese father and a Slovak mother. He holds a Slovakian passport and is currently residing in Phu Nhuan District (HCMC). This goalkeeper entered Vietnam on January 25, 2023 and is playing in the V.League for the Ho Chi Minh City Police.
Previously, the Ho Chi Minh City Police Club also expressed its support and affirmed that it would cooperate to help Le Giang complete the legal documents. With many years of experience playing in Europe and stable performance in the V.League, the goalkeeper born in 1992 is considered a quality addition to the Vietnamese national team's goal.
Currently, the Vietnamese team is also waiting for the naturalization process of some other foreign players such as the duo Janclesio, Geovane Magno (Ninh Binh), Hendrio ( Hanoi ), Rimario (Thanh Hoa).
On October 4, the Vietnamese team will gather in Thu Dau Mot ward, Ho Chi Minh City, with about a week to prepare for the first leg against Nepal at Go Dau stadium on October 9.
After that, coach Kim Sang Sik and his team will move to the center of Ho Chi Minh City to play the second leg at Thong Nhat Stadium on October 14.
