Returning to the Vietnam national team after nearly 2 years of absence, goalkeeper Dang Van Lam said everything is very familiar and his new task is to support the young players.

Goalkeeper Dang Van Lam was happy on the day he returned to the Vietnam national team.

“After a long time returning to the Vietnam national team, I feel like it was just yesterday. Everything is very familiar and with my old teammates,” goalkeeper Dang Van Lam shared before the training session on the afternoon of October 5 at Go Dau Stadium.

This is the first practice session of the Vietnamese team to get acquainted with the field in preparation for the match against Nepal on October 9. In this training session, coach Kim Sang-sik called up many U23 players such as Phi Hoang, Xuan Bac, Thanh Nhan, Nhat Minh, Hieu Minh. He hopes that the young faces will soon integrate with the mainstays.

Goalkeeper Dang Van Lam said the whole team is ready to support and help the young players. “The atmosphere in the team is normal, everyone is happy to talk to each other. We have had working sessions with the head coach and I believe everyone is ready to help the young players,” Van Lam said.

“Regarding the goalkeeper position, the Vietnamese team is gathering the best individuals in the country. Trung Kien, Van Viet, and I will support each other in training and competition. The decision on the starting position and role depends on the head coach,” said the goalkeeper of Ninh Binh Club.

In V.League 2025/26 after 6 rounds, goalkeeper Dang Van Lam played an important role in helping Ninh Binh Club to be at the top of the table with 4 wins, 2 draws and only 5 goals conceded.
