
On the afternoon of October 5, comrade Tran Van Quan, Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee, inspected storm prevention work No. 11 at Quan Chanh wharf area, Kien Hai commune.
The boat mooring area at Quan Chanh wharf is 900m long, 110m wide, and 2.5m deep on average (3.5m at peak tide), ensuring that fishing boats over 24m long and inland waterway vessels with a capacity of 300 to 650 tons can safely take shelter from storms. The wharf can accommodate about 200 moored vessels.
At the time of inspection, the vehicles and workers had safely entered the mooring area, including 106 vehicles moored in Kien Hai commune, 96 vehicles at Lach Quan Chanh, 10 vehicles at Lach Dong Tac and 15 vehicles moored in other localities.
Doan Xa Border Guard Station deployed 100% of its personnel to guard against storms, coordinate with local authorities to inspect and review vehicles and workers, and ensure safety.

Through the actual inspection, Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Tran Van Quan requested the Border Guard force to closely coordinate with the agricultural sector and local authorities, clearly assigning people and responsibilities in each anchorage area. Closely monitor weather developments, request vehicle owners to proactively tie up vehicles and boats; regularly check and urge vehicles not to leave the anchorage area without permission, not to let workers stay on vehicles at shelters, and absolutely not be subjective to the developments of the storm.

Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Tran Van Quan inspected the work of preventing storm No. 11 and pumping water out of the Co Tieu 2 sluice, Kien Hung commune. This is a sluice under sea dike 2, where 14 boats are currently anchored and taking shelter.
Comrade Tran Van Quan requested localities and units to closely follow the direction of the city and specialized agencies, actively propagate and mobilize people to proactively implement safety measures, and at the same time prepare plans and promptly support people when situations arise, minimizing damage when storms and floods occur.
