Coach Matt Ross: 'Nepal team will make it difficult for Vietnam'
Nepal will play the rematch against Vietnam at 7:30 p.m. tomorrow (October 14), without being able to score their first points in the 2027 Asian Cup qualifiers. Coach Matt Ross and his team lost to Malaysia (0-2), Laos (1-2) and Vietnam (1-3).
In the match against Vietnam on the evening of October 9, Nepal held the home team to a 1-1 draw in the first half. The red card right before halftime put Coach Ross's players in a 10 vs 11 situation in the second half, and the away team Nepal lost because they could not maintain their physical strength.

Coach Matt Ross shared before the rematch: "The Nepal team is fully focused on the rematch with the Vietnamese team tomorrow night. We have analyzed what we have not done. The players are also disappointed about the goals they conceded. However, I encouraged them, telling them what they have done.
In tomorrow's match, Nepal will try their best. We will not give up and hope to bring a competitive match. Hopefully, Nepal will make it difficult for the Vietnamese team."
The Australian strategist affirmed that despite the pressure, the Nepal team will play their best, with appropriate tactics.
Coach Matt Ross: 'Nepal team will not give up against Vietnam'
"The Nepalese players are always determined to win every time they take the field. However, I am concerned about whether the players have recovered or not. The players are not in the best condition yet. They are trying to recover and hope they can take the field with a comfortable mentality against Vietnam.
I understand that the Vietnamese team is under pressure to win from the audience and the media, so we will try to take advantage to find a favorable result. I believe Nepal will get points," added Mr. Matt Ross.
Nepal team is not afraid of rain
"I have shared that the Vietnamese team is worth 3 or 4 times more than Nepal. However, the Nepalese players have tried very hard. I believe that if they follow the tactics, play hard and have a little luck, Nepal will achieve their goal.
Nepal also wants to take advantage of set pieces thanks to having tall players who are good at aerial combat to unlock the Vietnamese team. This will be the path we aim for," added coach Matt Ross.
Nepal's strategist also does not mind having to play in heavy rain.
"It's the rainy season in Nepal right now, so my players are used to it. The Nepal team also just played in Bangladesh, I believe there are no worse playing conditions. We are not afraid of the rain and wind. The Nepal goalkeeper himself is also used to playing in the rain. The more it rains, the more we like it.
The Vietnamese team had good crosses, but we analyzed and were on guard, and I believe Nepal will have a plan to neutralize them," coach Matt Ross affirmed.
