On October 1, 2025, President of the Vietnam Union of UNESCO Associations Nguyen Xuan Thang signed Decision No. 57/QD-LH on the appointment of the Board of Directors of the UNESCO Center for Conservation of National Cultural Heritage.
According to the Decision, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Nguyen (born in 1979, Can Tho) was appointed as Director of the Center; Mr. Nguyen Phuc An (born in 1984, An Giang) and Mr. Nguyen Tat Hao (born in 1981, Hanoi ) were appointed as Deputy Directors.

The UNESCO Center for Preservation of National Cultural Heritage is a unit under the Vietnam Federation of UNESCO Associations, operating with the goal of preserving and promoting the value of tangible and intangible cultural heritage of the nation, contributing to the implementation of UNESCO's principles for peace , sustainable development, scientific progress, education, culture and environmental protection.
The UNESCO system operates on a non-profit basis, with key staff working on a voluntary basis to serve the community.
In the 2026-2030 period, the Center plans to coordinate with relevant agencies to implement the Project on national cultural revival, develop Khmer culture in the South, advise on the Agricultural Culture Project for the Mekong Delta region, and build cultural and artistic models associated with tourism, contributing to heritage preservation and sustainable community economic development.
