The Asian Lung Cancer Conference 2025 took place from October 9-11 in Vietnam, organized by the Vietnam Medical Association and the Vietnam Young Physicians Association in collaboration with the World Lung Cancer Research Association.
With 30 conference sessions, including 20 thematic sessions, 10 discussion sessions and more than 100 in-depth reports, focusing on areas such as: prevention, early detection screening, diagnosis and treatment of lung cancer, robotic endoscopic surgery, application of artificial intelligence in many stages from early detection screening to individualization in treatment...
Besides lung cancer, some rare thoracic malignancies such as pleural cancer, mediastinal cancer or small cell lung cancer are also discussed in depth by experts.
The contents presented at this conference not only reflect advanced medical trends but also address humanitarian issues, ensuring patient rights, narrowing the gap in care between countries, and promoting the generation of young and female researchers in the field of oncology.

From the perspective of the management agency, Deputy Minister of Health Tran Van Thuan said that this conference is a valuable opportunity for Vietnam to access and share knowledge with the international scientific community. Especially, in the context that the Party and Government of Vietnam have issued many policies to promote innovation in the health sector, applying modern technology, artificial intelligence, big data and precision medicine to improve the capacity to prevent, detect and treat diseases.
In the health development strategy to 2030, the Deputy Minister said that the Ministry of Health focuses on four key areas, including: strengthening preventive medicine, expanding lung cancer screening; promoting research and application of science and technology; developing high-quality human resources and building a fair and interconnected health care system, helping people in all regions access the best services.
As a co-organizer of this event, Prof. Karen Kelly, Executive Director of the World Lung Cancer Research Association, affirmed that this is an opportunity for scientists to update their knowledge, share valuable clinical experiences and build strong cooperative relationships for public health.
According to experts, the Asian Lung Cancer Conference 2025 held in Vietnam is not only an important scientific milestone, but also a testament to the international community's trust and recognition of Vietnam's capacity, prestige and commitment in the field of medicine and universal health care.
This event opens up opportunities for Vietnam to continue spreading knowledge, promoting cooperation and going further with the world in the fight against lung cancer and bringing great values to the community.
