The official website of the Orange County, Florida Clerk of Court posted an announcement about the results of the sentencing hearing for singer Lynda Trang Dai for petty theft.
As stated in the voluntary plea sent to the Court earlier, the female singer was absent, with only her lawyer present to listen to the verdict.
The ruling of the Court of the 9th Judicial District of Orange County (Florida, USA) noted that Lynda Trang Dai committed a crime but was not criminally convicted, and requested the court clerk's office to close this case file.
She only had to pay court fees of $223 and litigation fees of $50, a total of $273 (VND 7.1 million) before the December 12 deadline.
If Lynda Trang Dai fully fulfills her obligation to pay the administrative fee and does not re-offend, the case file will be permanently closed and no criminal record will be left.
On January 5 in Orlando (Florida, USA), singer Lynda Trang Dai was arrested by police and charged with first-degree theft - a misdemeanor for taking an Airpod accessory worth 330 USD (8.3 million VND) out of the Gucci store at The Mall at Millenia without paying.
Lynda Trang Dai was taken to the Orange County Jail. On January 6, she posted $1,000 bail and was released.
In her criminal record, the female singer "was convicted of petty theft".
