Fundamental position in training and research of the Academy of Politics

In the training and scientific research system of the Academy of Politics, the Faculty of Marxist-Leninist Philosophy plays a fundamental and key role. This is the place that directly equips students with Marxist-Leninist philosophical knowledge, fosters theoretical thinking capacity, develops scientific worldview and Marxist methodology. Thanks to that, students can practice the ability to analyze, synthesize, and creatively apply theory to practice, meeting the output standards of each type of training. In addition to teaching, the Faculty of Marxist-Leninist Philosophy also plays the role of a core force in research on military social sciences and humanities , participates in protecting the Party's ideological foundation, fights against erroneous and hostile viewpoints, makes an important contribution to building a politically strong Army, building and firmly protecting the socialist Vietnamese Fatherland, is an important component, plays a fundamental role, and makes an important and direct contribution to building the Academy of Politics into a leading center for training and fostering political cadres, researching military social sciences and humanities of the Army and the nation.

The staff and lecturers of the Faculty of Marxist-Leninist Philosophy have a strong political stance, pure ethics, most of whom have postgraduate qualifications (92.6%) with 3 associate professors, 17 doctors, and 5 masters. The staff and lecturers in the Faculty not only have a firm grasp of specialized knowledge but also have the ability to creatively apply it to teaching and research practices, meeting the requirements of current innovation in programs, content, and teaching methods. This is the core force, ensuring that the Faculty fulfills its functions and tasks well, contributing to maintaining the prestige and position of the Academy of Politics, the leading center for training and fostering political cadres and researching social sciences and military humanities in the Army and the whole country.

The training subjects at the Academy of Politics in recent years have been very diverse, including postgraduate training; training of intermediate-level political commissars (brigades) and divisions; short-term intermediate-level political commissars and brigades; perfecting intermediate-level political commissars and brigades; short-term Party work and political work (CTĐ, CTCT); lecturers of social sciences and humanities; training in advanced political theory; fostering national defense and security knowledge for subject 2; fostering political theory and CTĐ, CTCT; training and fostering foreign military officers according to the provisions of law and the Ministry of National Defense. In the coming time, the training subjects will continue to develop in relation to the requirement to improve the qualifications of local military cadres to meet the conditions for implementing two-level local government. This diversity places high demands on the teaching work of the Faculty of Marxist-Leninist Philosophy. On the one hand, cadres and lecturers must ensure systematicity, standards, and science, meeting the training program framework; on the other hand, they must constantly and strongly innovate training content and programs, especially training according to new job models, associated with innovative methods and improving teaching quality.

Constantly innovate and improve teaching quality

Implementing well the Academy's policy on "standardizing and modernizing" the program, content, and methods of training and fostering cadres in conjunction with the synchronous implementation of the criteria for a smart and modern school, the Faculty of Marxist-Leninist Philosophy regularly and strongly innovates teaching and learning methods in the direction of enhancing active and modern teaching methods, suitable for the subjects and types of training, in order to comprehensively promote qualities and capacities, especially leadership and command capacities commensurate with the academic level and training title, ensuring that each cadre graduating from the school must meet the requirements and complete the assigned tasks. The Faculty also focuses on arousing and promoting the spirit of self-study, self-research, self-training and lifelong learning of cadres, lecturers and students; attaching importance to imparting combat experience, training, management, commanding troops and conducting CTĐ and CTCT in practice.

In reality, philosophy is a special subject: abstract, general, with many difficult concepts and categories, requiring students to have good theoretical thinking and patience. The teaching process shows that if the lecturer only focuses on theory and lacks practical connections, the lectures can easily become dry, difficult to understand, and impractical. In addition, the unevenness in the level and thinking ability of students also creates certain difficulties. Some students have a firm grasp of theory and are able to absorb quickly, but there are also students with limited ability to think generally and analyze, leading to unevenness in the quality of learning... To meet the increasingly high demands in education and training, the Party Committee and the command of the Faculty of Marxist-Leninist Philosophy attach special importance to the leadership and direction of building and perfecting the system of lesson plans and lectures. Every month, quarter, year, especially before each new school year, the Faculty organizes to review, supplement, update, and approve the system of lesson plans to ensure strict procedures and consistency in content and form. All steps are carried out seriously, from assigning lecturers to compile, thoroughly practice and approve at the department level, to approve and approve at the Faculty level. This is an important basis for each lecturer to have a standard, scientific "framework", as a foundation for organizing effective teaching hours.

Along with the development of lesson plans and lectures, the Faculty pays special attention to innovating the content, form and teaching methods. Lecturers regularly update and supplement new arguments in resolutions and directives of the Party, the Central Military Commission, as well as domestic and international political news. Teaching content does not stop at abstract theory but is closely linked to hot issues of practice, making the lectures both scientific and close and practical. In particular, the Faculty is interested in innovating the way of communication, harmoniously combining traditional presentation methods with exchange, discussion, raising issues, suggesting, analyzing situations, using visual aids, modern information technology. Implementing well the model of "inverted classroom", inverted teaching method, inquiry method... that the Academy is promoting. It is this diversity of methods that has contributed significantly to making the lessons lively, helping students absorb easily, remember for a long time and apply theory well into practice.

With continuous efforts, over the past time, the Faculty of Marxist-Leninist Philosophy has achieved many outstanding results. Teaching content always adheres to political orientation, scientific and practical nature. Attention has been paid to the training of teaching staff, especially young lecturers. In the past 5 years, the Faculty has had 3 lecturers recognized as good teachers at the Ministry of National Defense level, 20 lecturers achieved the title of good teachers at the Academy level, 2 comrades were recognized as associate professors. The Faculty has always implemented the teaching plan well with a total of 56,012 hours for 13 subjects, 37 undergraduate and graduate classes; 100% of lectures meet the requirements of linking knowledge provision with training in independent and creative thinking and working methods of political cadres at tactical and campaign levels and lecturers of military social sciences and humanities. The Faculty of Marxist-Leninist Philosophy is also a bright spot in scientific research: It has chaired and participated in 33 topics at all levels, organized 5 extended Faculty-level scientific conferences, published 336 articles, 77 scientific papers, compiled 21 textbooks, and published 15 monographs and reference books. These results clearly demonstrate the spirit of the Resolution of the 13th National Party Congress on the strong development of social sciences and humanities, especially political theory, as a basis for formulating guidelines and policies.

The Party Committee and the Faculty's commanders determined that in the coming time, they will continue to promote the tradition of solidarity and creativity, closely following the core values: "Firmness - Creativity - Discipline - Quality" of the Political Academy, maintaining responsibility and professional enthusiasm, contributing to building the Political Academy into one of the leading centers for training and fostering political cadres in the country, meeting the requirements of building a revolutionary, disciplined, elite and modern Vietnam People's Army.
