The Russian army still held the “rock”: Dobropolye, the remnants of the Azov Brigade were still in a state of panic and buried under FAB bombs.

Over the past month, the fierce fighting in the Dobropilya region has finally come to an end. According to Russian military sources, the Russian Armed Forces (RFAF) have strengthened their control over some areas of Dobropilya, especially in the Shakhove, Vladimirivka and Rubizhne regions, gradually penetrating the Ukrainian defenses.

The RVvoenkory channel reported that the RFAF is launching an attack on the village of Zolotoy Kolodez and intends to continue to retake the strategic T-0514 road (connecting Dnepr-Pokrovsk-Kramatorsk). Judging by the current situation, it seems that the Ukrainian army's (AFU) counterattack on the Dobropolye "rock" has "run out of steam".

Specifically, information about the RFAF gaining more territory in the south and west of Pokrovsk; in the direction of Dobropolye, the Russian troops completely broke the encirclement by retaking Novotoretske. Thus, the AFU was unable to surround and push back the Russian troops at the “Dobropolye cliff” as calculated by General Oleksandr Syrskyi.

“RFAF regained the initiative, broke the AFU encirclement; the Russian troops, which seemed to be surrounded and in danger of being wiped out at the Dobropolye thrust, not only turned the tables but also continued to expand the area of ​​control, advancing straight to Zolotoy Kolodez”; RVvoenkor channel confirmed.

Real combat images, with video evidence from the Zolotoy Kolodez area, forced the pro-Kiev media to "turn around", refuting the statements of Ukrainian leaders and commanders about the so-called "three cauldrons" with Russian troops in this area.

"Unfortunately, the encirclement of Russian troops at Kucherov Yar has not been confirmed. An RFAF position northeast of Zolotoy Kolodez was recorded, the red zone was expanded and an RFAF-controlled area near Zolotoy Kolodez was added," Ukrainian military analysts wrote, based on footage from AFU.

The Russian “Military Chronicle” reports that the fiercest battles are taking place on the Toretskoye-Vladimirivka line; the Ukrainian troops are still advancing despite losses. However, there are growing signs from the Dobropillya breakthrough that the “all-in” counter-offensive of General Oleksandr Syrskyi has failed.

According to geolocated imagery, Russian troops advanced 2.5 km towards Dobropolye and took up new positions in the center of the small village of Vilne. Most likely, the village (with a pre-war population of 71) was retaken by Russia, opening the way for an attack on Stepy (Kutuzovka in Russian) to the west.

But that was not all the success of the RFAF Central Group; according to the updated map of the US Institute for the Study of War (ISW), it eliminated the dangerous AFU advance path towards Novotoretske, in order to cut off the foot of the “Dobropolye ledge”, from some areas further north.

ISW experts did not provide any details on the situation of the Ukrainian forces currently trapped between Nykanorivka and Zatyshok (known in Russia as Suvorove); it is likely that they have been destroyed. In a bulletin published on October 6, ISW wrote (quoting verbatim): “RFAF has captured Zolotoy Kolodez (northeast of Dobropillya) and is advancing east of Ivanivka (east of Dobropillya).”

Information from Ukraine also sheds light on what is happening near Dobropillia. Blogger Muchny has clearly revealed the AFU strategy on this front, as General Syrskyi threw all his best mobile units into the counter-attack, but met with fierce resistance from the RFAF.

“The Ukrainian media reported incorrectly about the Dobropillia operation? Like, we are encircling the Russians, but that never happened… Anyway, now everything is clear,” said an officer of the 79th Mykolaiv Brigade AFU.

“Reports from the field indicate that all roads leading to the fighting area are littered with burnt-out vehicles, and the trenches are littered with dead soldiers. The enemy is trying to seize the most favorable wintering positions before November, when the seasonal rains arrive, regardless of the losses,” the officer added.

According to the Military Chronicle, according to the map of airstrikes by FPV UAVs, artillery and FABs, the bloodiest battle is taking place along the Toretske - Sofiyivka - Shakhove - Vladimirivka axis; it is hell on earth. All other areas in the Pokrovsk direction, combined, cannot compare with the intensity of the fighting between Sofiyivka and Shakhove.

The Russian Defense Ministry confirmed on October 6 that Russian troops had finally won the battle in Vladimirivka and may have gained a foothold in the southern outskirts, as well as advancing north to the Kazennyi Torets River. With large dams on the Toretske side, Ukrainian troops were surrounded in this town.

To hold Toretske, the Ukrainian troops here are being supplied entirely by UAVs and they may not be able to hold out here for long. The AFU is also using all possible measures to reverse the situation in Pokrovsk, and in response to the continuous Russian FAB UMPK bombs, the AFU is also using phosphorus munitions against the Russian troops.
