Speed ​​up project progress and disbursement of public investment capital

On October 10, the delegation to survey and supervise the implementation of policies, laws and Resolutions of the Provincial People's Council on public investment from the State budget in 2025 in the province of the Standing Committee of the Vinh Long Provincial People's Council, led by Comrade Nguyen Van Tuan - Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council, came to supervise at the Department of Finance.

According to the Department of Finance, the implementation of the medium-term public investment plan for the period 2021-2025 has been focused on by all levels and sectors, with good implementation results. Specifically, according to the 2025 public investment capital plan assigned by the Prime Minister , by September 30, the province had disbursed more than VND 6,260 billion, estimated to achieve 100% of the plan for the whole year; disbursement reached 31.73% of the capital plan assigned by the Provincial People's Council, estimated to achieve over 95% of the plan for the whole year.

Projects completed early and put into use promote investment efficiency, contribute to economic restructuring, promptly meet the goals of building new rural areas, reducing poverty, increasing people's income; at the same time, complete infrastructure for rural and urban areas, prevent and overcome riverbank and coastal erosion, drought, saltwater intrusion and adapt to climate change. However, the progress of implementation and disbursement is still slow compared to requirements. Investment preparation, site clearance, construction design - cost estimates for many projects are slow. Some projects are still stuck with site clearance compensation, prolonged settlement, affecting construction progress, disbursement of capital plans...

Comrade Nguyen Van Tuan requested the Department of Finance to advise the Provincial People's Committee to promptly direct the operation, management, and implementation of policies, laws, and the Resolution of the Provincial People's Council on public investment from the State budget in 2025 in the province effectively. Accordingly, speed up the progress of projects to ensure compliance with the Government's direction and disbursement of public investment capital. Relevant departments, branches, and localities coordinate to promote site clearance, remove difficulties in land acquisition, and compensate people.
