Painter Ngo Phuong Cuc, born in 1933, in Thai Thuy, Thai Binh (old). He belonged to the first generation of painters in Quang Ninh. He created hundreds of oil paintings, silk paintings, lacquer paintings, wood carvings, gouache paintings and sketches during half a century of pursuing an artistic career. His paintings are mostly landscape paintings, the most successful ones are about the production of the mine. Proficient in using oil paints, he also created a unique style of painting by using colors to highlight details.

He affirmed: "The budget for collecting artworks at the Vietnam Fine Arts Museum is currently very limited, while valuable works are increasingly attracting the attention of private collectors, so collecting works is very difficult. However, with the love and trust of the families of painters and late painters, in recent times, the Vietnam Fine Arts Museum has been awarded many valuable works, including the family of painter Ngo Phuong Cuc. The painter's family's initiative to donate is a noble gesture, helping the Museum have the conditions to preserve and promote the value of the works of a generation of dedicated painters."

According to Mr. Nguyen Anh Minh, artist Ngo Phuong Cuc grew up in the mining movement, the cradle of the workers' movement and the construction of socialism in the North. With his talent and experience in the lives of mining workers, his works vividly recreate the lives of mining workers. These works not only have great artistic value but also value of a past historical period. Therefore, with the best technical conditions for preserving paintings in Vietnam today, the Vietnam Fine Arts Museum is committed to preserving and promoting the heritage of artist Ngo Phuong Cuc's family to the people and tourists.

Sharing at the ceremony, Mr. Ngo Phuong Hai (son of painter Ngo Phuong Cuc) said: "My father was not formally trained but devoted his whole life to painting. He was fortunate to be guided by masters in the industry such as painters Hoang Cong Luan, Luu Danh Thanh, Nguyen Anh Thuong, Tran Van Can, Nguyen Sang... He always wanted his works to be preserved and promoted in Vietnam's museums so that future generations could admire them. That is why we have donated these works to the Vietnam Fine Arts Museum. I hope that these works will be preserved and promoted in a positive way, contributing to enriching and enriching the Museum's collection."
