According to information from the Customs Department, Noi Bai International Airport Customs has handed over to the Hanoi Police Investigation Agency the case of a passenger carrying 3 pieces of metal suspected to be gold, without declaring to customs, in a carry-on backpack.
Specifically, at around 10:30 a.m. on October 14, through professional measures, risk control, and analysis of luggage screening images at exit gate A1, Noi Bai International Airport Customs screened the luggage of passenger Phung Thi Linh entering the country on flight VN579 from Taiwan to Vietnam.
Customs discovered that this person was hiding and carrying 3 pieces of metal suspected to be gold bars with a total weight of 892.5 grams in his carry-on backpack, without declaring to customs upon entry. The amount of metal suspected to be smuggled gold is estimated to be worth about 3.1 billion VND.

The exhibits and suspects were handed over by Noi Bai International Airport Customs to the Investigation Police Agency (Department of Investigation Police on Corruption, Economic , Smuggling, and Environmental Crimes - Team 6), Hanoi City Police for further investigation and handling according to regulations.
