According to records, at around 2:00 p.m. on October 16, at the intersection of Nui Thanh - Tieu La Street (Hoa Cuong Ward), Quang Trung Street (Hai Chau Ward)... there was heavy rain lasting nearly an hour.
Some low-lying roads were flooded, the water rose quickly, making it difficult for many vehicles to move. However, when the rain stopped, the water also receded quickly, and traffic soon returned to normal.



Ms. Nguyen Mai (48 years old, residing in Hoa Cuong ward, Da Nang city) said that this was the second heavy rain of the day, after a very heavy shower in the early morning. The rain occurred during the early morning rush hour, causing many people to be passive, forcing them to pull their vehicles under the porches to take shelter.
According to the Central Hydrometeorological Station, Da Nang City will have rain, some places will have moderate to heavy rain, while the delta region will have moderate rain, some places will have heavy to very heavy rain and thunderstorms. It is forecasted that tonight and tomorrow (October 17), Da Nang sea area may have thunderstorms, tornadoes and strong gusts of wind of level 6-7. Boating and tourism activities at sea need to pay special attention.

Faced with the complicated situation of heavy rain, the Da Nang City Civil Defense Command has issued a document requesting departments, branches, sectors and localities to proactively deploy disaster prevention plans.
In particular, urban construction units urgently cleared the flow, ensuring drainage. Wards and communes mobilized people to clean up the water intakes in front of their houses, not letting garbage clog the sewers.
The Border Guard Command monitors and promptly notifies owners of vehicles and vessels operating at sea to proactively prevent and control; and proactively manages vessels at sea.


The Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Da Nang City and localities inform units, headquarters, tourism infrastructure and tourists about natural disasters; request localities, tourist areas, outdoor entertainment areas... to ensure safety for tourists and infrastructure when natural disasters occur.
The Department of Construction, the Department of Agriculture and Environment and reservoir management units are required to closely monitor water levels to ensure safe operations.
