With an average score of 3.95/4.0, in this graduation session, Huy was the valedictorian of the School of Electricity and Electronics, one of the 10 valedictorians of Hanoi University of Science and Technology.

In his speech, Huy said: “I was lucky to be born into a farming family filled with love. Although my parents could not teach me advanced math or complex physics, they taught me the greatest lessons in life: lessons about diligence, sacrifice and the value of knowledge.”

According to Phuong Van Huy, he will always remember the image of his parents every day "selling their faces to the ground, selling their backs to the sky", leaving home when the morning dew had not yet cleared and returning when the sun had set.

My parents' sweat has been exchanged for every meal, every book and every tuition fee, so that I can go to school to pursue knowledge.

I used my parents’ money to learn things they never had the chance to learn. Thanks to their sweat and tears, I was able to reach dreams they never dared to dream of.

It is known that Huy is a San Chi ethnic, born and raised in Dinh Hoa, Thai Nguyen .

During his high school years, Huy studied at Thai Nguyen Boarding School for Ethnic Minorities, a specialized boarding school for children of ethnic minorities with excellent achievements in the province.

From a shy student, I dared to dream bigger, think about further horizons.

“I know that studying at university has never been easy. I set myself a modest goal: to graduate on time, get a good degree and a stable job to take care of my family,” the male student said.

When I first entered university, I was overwhelmed by the amount of knowledge I had never encountered before. Meanwhile, the friends around me were all very active, most of them came from specialized schools or won national awards. Everyone was excellent, studying non-stop made the male student even more self-conscious.

“Many nights I stayed up all night with textbooks full of formulas. There were experiments that failed again and again, and exams with results that were not as expected, making me doubt myself, could I do it?

It was during the most difficult times that I realized the value of perseverance and endurance. I achieved a GPA of 3.69/4.0 in my first year,” the male student said.

In his third year, Huy started doing scientific research. This helped him apply knowledge learned in class to solve real-life problems.

According to the male student, it was also through perseverance and persistence that, from the initial goal of graduating on time, he achieved an achievement that he never dared to dream of: Valedictorian!

Sharing his study secrets, the male student said that he always had to try hard and spend more time doing homework than his classmates. In particular, he looked for foreign documents on analysis and algebra - the two most difficult subjects - to improve his skills.

Regarding plans after graduation, the male student will continue to study for a master's degree at the school, then go abroad.

The male student is applying to several companies with the hope of studying and working to cover expenses and continue participating in research.
