Yen Tu,Linh's knitting workshop lights the flame of creativity, where she and the Dao Thanh Y women work hard every day to connect pink yarn, conveying their love for their homeland and country in each handmade product. The pink yarn from Linh's knitting workshop not only "breathes life" into the indigenous culture of each product, but also provides livelihoods for many disadvantaged workers, contributing to bringing Vietnamese handicrafts to the world .
Formerly an English teacher, in 2019, Do Thuy Linh left the podium, opened a workshop and established Linhs Crochet Trading Company Limited, specializing in producing handmade products from wool, starting her own journey of "weaving dreams". To make durable and safe products, Do Thuy Linh is meticulous in every step of choosing raw materials, prioritizing the import of high-quality, soft, non-frayed wool that does not create dust, and is friendly to the environment and users. With the desire to bring products beyond the "bamboo fence", Linh started an online business using her phone and personal computer. Every day, Linh livestreams, records product introduction clips right at the factory and then shares them on platforms like Facebook, Zalo... 2021 marked a big turning point for the girl from Quang Ninh when her product was selected by the Ministry of Industry and Trade to display at the Handicraft Fair serving the 31st SEA Games. In 2023, Linh's crocheted products were honored by the Vietnam Anti-Counterfeiting Technology Center in the top 10 prestigious national brands and reached markets in the UK, France, Germany, the US, Australia... From Linh's love for sophisticated embroidery and crochet products through the gift he received, in August 2025, Lukasz Kopec (40 years old, German nationality) went to Yen Tu to learn embroidery with the Dao Thanh Y women, feeling the beauty of Vietnamese culture in every stitch and yarn. Language and cultural differences could not stop Lukasz Kopec from enthusiastically experiencing crocheting with the local women. For Lukasz Kopec, the trip to Yen Tu is an unforgettable memory. What he brought back to Germany were not only handmade woolen gifts such as cute stuffed animals or the bright red flag with yellow star, but also the affection, hospitality and beauty of Vietnamese culture. "I want to bring these products back so that more Germans can know and love this wonderful country more" - Lukasz Kopec shared. Do Thuy Linh is always proud to work with everyone to make Party flags, the sacred symbol of the Fatherland, with the wish that each product carries pride and love for the country, spreading to domestic and foreign tourists. Do Thuy Linh guides workers in knitting Party flags and statues of Uncle Ho, special products that require meticulousness, delicacy and professional pride. Ms. Vu Thi Mang (far left) , 71 years old, 45 years of Party membership, shared: In the early days, I was still confused, but thanks to Linh's dedicated guidance, I gradually became a skilled knitter, with a stable income. Embroidering the national flag and the Party flag by hand, which are loved by tourists and are also exported to many countries, is a joy, pride, and motivation for us to love life more. Do Thuy Linh's L&T Crochet workshop creates stable jobs for more than 50 disadvantaged and elderly workers with an average income of 3-5 million VND/person/month. Do Thuy Linh also proactively connects with members of the knitting club in Hanoi and Thai Nguyen province to share experiences, replicate creative models and spread the value of traditional handicrafts. Currently, Do Thuy Linh's workshop produces about 1,500 products each month. In addition to export, the workshop's products are sold in many famous tourist destinations in the country, among which the most popular are dolls wearing traditional ao dai and stuffed animals holding the national flag. Do Thuy Linh is planning to carry out charity programs using the workshop's revenue. (In the photo, Do Thuy Linh gives gifts to disadvantaged children at the Vietnam - Sweden Uong Bi Hospital)
