Bo De Ward put up signs on two streets to celebrate the 71st anniversary of the Capital Liberation.

HNP - On October 10, the Party Committee - People's Council - People's Committee - Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Bo De ward (Hanoi) held a ceremony to name two streets Le Dai and Nguyen The Ruc, practically celebrating the 71st anniversary of the Liberation of the Capital (October 10, 1954 - October 10, 2025), making achievements to welcome the 18th Hanoi Party Congress, towards the 14th National Congress of the Party.

At the ceremony, the Organizing Committee announced Decision No. 3862/QD-UBND dated July 20, 2025 of the Hanoi People's Committee on naming and adjusting the length of some roads, streets and public works in the city in 2025. In particular, Bo De ward is honored to have two new streets named Le Dai and Nguyen The Ruc.

Le Dai Street extends from the intersection of Gia Thuong Street to the intersection of lane 59 Nguyen Gia Bong. Nguyen The Ruc Street connects from the intersection of Nguyen Van Cu - Hong Tien Street (Nguyen Van Cu overpass area) to the intersection of Ngoc Thuy - Hong Tien - Nguyen Gia Bong.

Comrade Dao Thi Hoa, Member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Bo De Ward spoke at the ceremony.

Speaking at the ceremony, comrade Dao Thi Hoa, member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Bo De Ward emphasized: "The naming of two streets named after the famous people Le Dai and Nguyen The Ruc is not only an honor and pride for the cadres, party members and people of Bo De Ward, but also demonstrates the morality of 'remembering the source of water when drinking', showing gratitude for the merits and contributions of our predecessors who devoted their whole lives to the nation. This is also an opportunity to educate the tradition of patriotism and foster national pride for today's young generation."

The Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Bo De Ward affirmed that, along with the installation of street name signs, the locality will continue to synchronously implement urban beautification solutions, maintain "Bright - green - clean - beautiful" streets, and at the same time promote propaganda work among the people about the significance of naming famous streets. Schools and mass organizations will be encouraged to include the content of learning about famous street names in extracurricular activities and local education, contributing to raising awareness, love for the homeland and consciousness of preserving the culture of Hanoi with thousands of years of civilization.

Representative of the Le family, Mr. Le Chan Hung, the eldest grandson of patriot Le Dai, emotionally said: "Witnessing the name of Mr. Le Dai - a teacher, a culturalist, a patriot of the Dong Kinh Nghia Thuc movement - being honored by the name of a spacious street in the heart of Bo De ward is a great honor for the family and generations of descendants. Our family would like to express our deep gratitude to the City leaders and the government and people of Bo De ward for their attention, research, and proposal to have him listed here."

Mr. Le Chan Hung added that Mr. Le Dai (1875-1951), from Thinh Hao village, Hoan Long district (now O Cho Dua ward, Hanoi), was one of the founders and teachers at Dong Kinh Nghia Thuc, was imprisoned by the French colonialists and exiled to Con Dao for 17 years. After returning, he continued to compile, translate and teach, leaving behind many valuable works, notably the translation of "Overseas Blood Letter" by Phan Boi Chau.

"The name Le Dai Street today is not only a place name, but also a cultural milestone - a profound reminder of the value of education, patriotism and national self-reliance," Mr. Hung shared.

Representative of the family of the famous Nguyen The Ruc, Mr. Nguyen Minh Hai, Chairman of the Nguyen clan council in Hanh Thien village (Ninh Binh province) emotionally said: "Mr. Nguyen The Ruc (1902 - 1938) was one of the senior communist soldiers, who studied at the Oriental University in the Soviet Union, at the same time as President Ho Chi Minh and General Secretary Tran Phu. He contributed important ideas to the ' Political Platform' in 1930 and was the leader of the revolutionary movement in Hanoi during the period 1936 - 1938. His short but dedicated life is a shining example of patriotism and revolutionary loyalty."

Mr. Hai expressed his deep gratitude to the City and Bo De Ward for their care and gratitude to their ancestors, and pledged that the descendants of the Nguyen family will continue to promote the revolutionary tradition, contributing to building a "Cultured - Civilized - Modern" Capital.

Immediately after the speeches, the Organizing Committee performed the ceremony of presenting flowers to congratulate the families of famous people Le Dai and Nguyen The Ruc. Next, in a solemn atmosphere, the leaders of Bo De ward, representatives of the families of the two celebrities and a large number of people participated in the ceremony of attaching street nameplates to Le Dai and Nguyen The Ruc streets. The two streets named after cultural and revolutionary celebrities - Le Dai and Nguyen The Ruc not only contribute to the completion of the urban traffic network but also become cultural symbols, reminding the spirit of "remembering the source of drinking water", fostering pride in Thang Long - Hanoi, a thousand years of civilization.
