Gia Lai Border Guard promotes emulation movement to win

(GLO)- In 2025, the emulation movement to win was synchronously deployed by the Gia Lai Provincial Border Guard, creating motivation for officers and soldiers to excellently complete their tasks, firmly protecting the sovereignty of the land border and sea areas.

Unity, unity from top to bottom

After the merger, the Gia Lai Provincial Border Guard manages 80.485 km of land border with Cambodia and more than 134 km of coastline (of which 108.17 km is sea border). This is a large area with diverse terrain and complex tasks, but it is also a place to affirm the will, courage and steadfast determination of the soldiers in green uniforms.

Colonel Doan Ngoc Bau - Political Commissar of the Provincial Border Guard - said: In 2025, the emulation movement to win with the theme "Democracy, solidarity, discipline, creativity, determination to win" will be deployed comprehensively, synchronously, with focus and key points, associated with continuing to promote studying and following Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and style and the campaign "Promoting tradition, dedicating talent, worthy of being Uncle Ho's soldiers in the new period".

Responding to the movement, the Provincial Border Guard Command has comprehensively deployed all aspects of work, closely combining regular emulation movements with peak emulation periods.

On the land border, units proactively develop and implement plans to combat and prevent activities that take advantage of ethnic and religious issues and political opportunities to disrupt security and order.

Since the beginning of the year, the provincial Border Guard has presided over the fight and handled 110 cases/143 subjects; confiscated 4,013 m³ of wood; coordinated the fight and handled 55 cases/103 subjects, seized 369.6462 grams of drugs and 219.6 kg of firecrackers.

On the sea route, Border Guard units closely coordinate with functional forces to grasp the situation, patrol, control and resolutely fight against activities that violate maritime sovereignty.

In addition, the units also support fishermen in legal, technical, and logistical matters, helping them feel secure in sticking to the sea and traditional fishing grounds.

Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Tung Giang - Political Commissar of Quy Nhon Port Border Guard Station - said: "Recognizing the importance of the emulation movement to win, officers and soldiers always strive and are determined to complete the emulation contents and targets. Thanks to that, many good and practical initiatives and models have been implemented, renewing working style and civilized and polite working manners. The unit effectively implemented the movements, notably reforming administrative procedures, creating favorable conditions for ships and crew members to enter and exit Quy Nhon Port, contributing to the local socio-economic development".

Many good models, effective methods

According to Colonel Nguyen Thuy Vu - Political Commissar of the Provincial Border Guard, as the standing agency of the Emulation and Reward Council of the Provincial Border Guard Command, officers and soldiers in the unit all demonstrate the spirit of emulation and determination to win.

In particular, the unit has advised the Party Committee and the Provincial Border Guard Command to lead and direct border posts to deploy forces to stay close to the people and the area, and coordinate with Party committees, authorities, sectors and organizations to organize propaganda to prevent and combat illegal fishing (IUU).

The project "Helping a poor household in the border area every week" has been implemented effectively at 6 Border Guard stations. From December 2024 to August 2025, the units have helped 321 poor and near-poor households; mobilized agencies, businesses and individuals to support 83 gifts with a total value of 68.6 million VND and 14 means of livelihood worth 88 million VND. The "Charity Kitchen" model supports 16 students with an amount of 7 million VND/month, which is highly appreciated by the Party Committee and the government.

The highlight of the Emulation movement to win of the Provincial Border Guard Command is that it has performed its advisory role well, while at the same time directing, guiding, and promptly urging the work of commendation. From there, it has contributed to encouraging and motivating officers and soldiers to overcome difficulties, compete to excellently complete political tasks, and build a comprehensively strong Provincial Border Guard, "exemplary and typical".

“Many emulation movements have been enthusiastically participated in by officers and soldiers, contributing to the excellent completion of the tasks of the agency and unit, actively contributing to helping the Provincial Border Guard firmly protect the sovereignty and security of the land border and the sea and islands of the province. Through the emulation movement to win in 2025, the Provincial Border Guard has 73 collectives and 166 individuals being commended at all levels,” Colonel Doan Ngoc Bau added.
