Quang Binh increases 11 places on the PAPI Index rankings in 2024

(QBĐT) - In Hanoi , the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) in coordination with relevant units recently held a ceremony to announce the 2024 PAPI Index.

Accordingly, Quang Ninh province ranked in the group of provinces with the highest scores and ranked first nationwide with a total score of 47.82 points. Ranked 2nd and 3rd were Tay Ninh and Binh Thuan. In 2024, Quang Binh province scored 43.80 points, ranked 28th out of 63 provinces and cities, up 11 places on the PAPI Index ranking compared to 2023 (in 2023, it scored 41.60 points, ranked 39th out of 63 provinces and cities).

The PAPI Index (Provincial Governance and Public Administration Performance Index) is a tool for citizens to participate in monitoring the effectiveness of government in implementing policies from the provincial to grassroots levels.

The PAPI index consists of 8 criteria with a total of 80 points, including: People's participation at the grassroots level; transparency; people's accountability; control of corruption in the public sector; public administrative procedures; public service delivery; environmental governance; e-governance with 28 component content indicators and more than 120 component indicators on governance and public administration efficiency of all 63 provinces/cities.

Through the study of 8 content axes announced by PAPI in 2024, Quang Binh province has a number of contents with relatively high scores, namely: Public service provision, public administrative procedures. However, there are some contents with low scores compared to the general scale, namely environmental governance (3.49/8 points) and e-governance (3.51/8 points).
